Mumbai look to avenge against Pune
After finding their way to a perfect all round performance against Deccan Chargers in the last match, Mumbai Indians will aim to take full advantage of Pune Warriors three-in-a-row-match losing streak.
As the race to the Indian Premier League play-offs intensifies now, every point earned will be crucial and Mumbai Indians won’t want to let go any opportunity coming their way.
Mumbai Indian’s performance hasn’t been what it should have, but the team, especially captain Harbhajan Singh, lifted itself up in the last match against Deccan that pushed them up to third position in the points table.
Mumbai's major worry is their batting, with only Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu and James Franklin close to consistency. Richard Levi has been in and out of the team, while the likes of Dinesh Karthik and Kieron Pollard have been at best patchy. Worst, they have been reeling under injuries.
It's their bowling that has earned them most of their victories, with army of Lasith Malinga, Munaf Patel, Pollard and now Harbhajan showing signs of finding form as well, Mumbai look set to hit an upward curve in the league's second half.
Pune, on the other hand, have some catching up to do with four wins and six losses in the 10 matches. As a result, a team that looked set to challenge the big guns' supremacy is now languishing at the seventh spot on the leaderboard. They have to quickly find the right team combination before it gets too late.
