MI vs KKR – Match Preview

By Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians face the Kolkata Knight Riders, on Thursday 28th April, in their own backyard. MI will look to repeat the heroics from their previous match against KKR when they chased a target of 188 with ease. Hitman, Rohit Sharma continued his love affair with Eden Gardens as he scored 84 off just 54 balls to seal the game for MI. It was the first win for MI and it was the only loss suffered by KKR, till date.

KKR have performed consistently throughout the tournament thus far. Their opening pair of Robin Uthappa and skipper Gautam Gambhir complement each other well as one of them plays the role of a sheet anchor while the other goes after the bowlers. KKR Spin trio of Shakib, Sunil and Chawla will look to turn things around for KKR this time around.

MI after a few trial and errors have finalised their batting line-up and it has paid off! The batting has finally clicked for the defending champions. MI batsmen have runs under their belt which does a world of good for their confidence. Their bowlers have been effective throughout this tournament led by Mitchell McClenaghan who is currently the purple cap holder.
It will be an interesting clash on cards as MI pick up momentum in their typical late bloomer fashion. KKR, on the other hand, will look for payback. MI will bank on their home advantage and support, to get a double whammy over the table toppers. Both these teams have faced each other 17 times out of which KKR have finished on the losing end on 12 occasions. Besides this, they have faced KKR six times at the Wankhede stadium and won five of them.

The defending champions will be looking to get another win under their belt as they join the rat race to make their way up the table and garner the necessary momentum!
