Another home game and another crucial game is here. There's a lot of pride at stake, and given how things went against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous game, there's a lot for us to avenge as well. 

Naman Dhir, one of the bright stars unearthed in the Mumbai Indians camp this year, credited skipper Hardik Pandya for backing the players.

“He always backs me, and he always backs every youngster. So, as much as I talk to him, he gives me confidence that you are good and can do well in bowling and batting,” Naman said at the pre-match press conference on Sunday (May 5).

The all-rounder then proceeded to explain that the team was ready and confident with their skills on the Wankhede pitch despite the previous game's outcome.

“It wasn't a surprise (pitch conditions in the previous game). I guess in the beginning, the wicket was a little damp. But during our batting, it was a good wicket.”

“And tomorrow's wicket, everybody knows it will be a good batting track. We expect that.”

The Wankhede has been a symbol of our confidence and our mentality. Despite hosting SRH, who have scored 250-plus totals on different venues this season, Naman assured that MI had it in them to break the norm.

“In the IPL, every team is very competitive, so sometimes home-field advantages become null and void,” he said.

“Hence, I won't say that SRH makes 250 in every match and will do the same tomorrow. We have a good bowling side. We will try to restrict them as little as possible."

Lastly, Naman Dhir assured the media that the team atmosphere hasn’t suffered despite the results this term and that they are targeting to win every game from now on.

“We have our fans. We will still play for our pride. We have three matches. We will try to win all three games. The atmosphere is positive. We were playing to win every match. We will play with the same intensity.”
