Lord Shardul - MI’s momentum machine at Dharamshala

By Mumbai Indians

Shardul Thakur produced a spectacular spell, weaving brilliant magic that only he could tell. 🙌

When pressure rose, Lord Shardul struck with some mighty blows. 👊

He produced four overs of fight, which quickly became MI’s might. 💥

Before one realized, the game had changed, with Punjab’s rhythm completely deranged. 😵‍💫

Dharamshala’s mountains found its voice, when the pacer made quick wickets his choice. 🔊

From one breakthrough to another he owned the night, as Paltan roared in full delight! 💙

Under the lights at one of the most scenic venues in India, Dharamshala…our very own Shardul Thakur lit up the scoreboard with his great spell when Mumbai Indians faced Punjab Kings. Whenever pressure peaks and a partnership is seen flourishing, the call inevitably goes to Lord Shardul. He arrived like a thunderstorm, struck at regular intervals and left the Kings stumbling in disbelief. 💪

He finished off with figures of 4/39 in his four overs. The real impact lay in the timing of the strikes, the pressure he created and the chaos he unleashed every time he marked his run up. First, he snapped up two big wickets of players in form, Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer during the 12th over of Punjab’s innings. In the blink of an eye, the game slowly started to tilt.

But for Shardul, the match was far from done…as he came back and grabbed the wicket of Suryansh Shedge (13.2), refusing the opponents any breathing space. His courage and uncanny knack of delivering when pressure peaks, always speaks volumes. The finishing touches arrived when he was given the 17th over of the contest and he snapped up the wicket of Marco Jansen who could very well have pelted some big maximums. Suddenly from 123/5, PBKS found themselves at 140/7 within no time.

Paltan was cheering each delivery he bowled and were all geared up with the constant sense that something magical would happen. Shardul always remains a bowler who thrives in moments of uncertainty and turns pressure into opportunity. His bowling in the middle overs was the most crucial for us. He kept asking questions, forcing errors and pulling momentum back towards the MI camp each time it looked like the Kings were threatening to take the game away. Perhaps why the nickname “Lord” keeps growing louder due to his golden arm. That’s why we always say…Shardul, Tula Maanla! 💙
