India complete series whitewash in Ranchi
The Ranchi crowd witnessed another spectacular performance by the hosts. The Proteas were completely flummoxed by the No.1 ranked Test team as they suffered another innings defeat and were whitewashed by a superior Indian side.
Here are the five talking points from the match:
1. Rohit Sharma muscles 212
Rohit Sharma continued his stellar run with the bat in Tests. On the opening day, India were reduced to 39/3 thanks to Kagiso Rabada’s threatening spell. Rohit took his time, settled and bailed India out of early trouble. He stayed unbeaten over night and returned on Day 2 to complete his maiden double ton. His magnificent knock of 212 included 28 boundaries and six sixes.

2. Ajinkya Rahane rises tall
Walking out to bat at a time when his team was reeling at 39/3, Ajinkya Rahane batted with great calmness. His 267-run partnership with Rohit allowed India to recover from their early slump. The 31 year old recorded his eleventh hundred which was also his first century at home after three years.

3. Indian pacers torment the Proteas
The duo of Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav created trouble for the visitors, especially with their short and attacking lines. Both didn't allow the opposition batsmen to feel any comfort at the crease, hurling short balls and aiming for the stumps. Together, they accounted for 10 of the 20 wickets that fell in the game.
