The reigning World T20 champions will have a lot to rectify when they take the field in Lucknow in a bid to keep the series alive against India.

While India’s batting was tested in a low scoring affair, the hosts will be aiming to put up a better show in the second T20I. Here is a look at what the teams will have on offer when they lock horns on Tuesday.

From the Indian dugout:

India were made to toil in Kolkata even though the target wasn’t stiff. Rohit Sharma found himself on the receiving end of a peach from Oshane Thomas while Shikhar Dhawan was clearly beaten by pace.

India’s openers will be aiming to get off to a flyer for others to capitalize especially in the absence of Virat Kohli. KL Rahul has huge shoes to fill at number three and he will be surely wanting to put the previous game behind. After his fielding lapses, Rahul couldn’t contribute much with the bat which can be frustrating for someone like him who had to sit out of all the five one-dayers.

Rishabh Pant is playing as a specialist batsman and needs to add more value to his wicket with the likes of Shreyas Iyer on the bench. Pant looks great when his big hits come off but when they don’t, he certainly creates trouble for himself.

Manish Pandey and Dinesh Karthik spent some valuable time in the middle and will be hoping to play a similar kind of a role in Lucknow.

Krunal Pandya was India’s asset in his debut game. He came in at a critical stage and scored a quickfire 21* to see India across the line. Even with the ball, he got the big wicket of Kieron Pollard and curtailed the run-flow.

Kuldeep Yadav was effective yet again while Khaleel Ahmed also did a wonderful job from his four overs. If Bhuvneshwar Kumar is fit, India will want him to return and partner Jasprit Bumrah with the new ball.

India’s only concern will be Yuzvendra Chahal who saw himself benched in the first T20I. Overall, India will expect the visitors to put up a fight and come back strong in Lucknow.

From the Windies dugout:

The issue of not having their regular openers still haunts the men from the Carribean. Evin Lewis’ absence meant that Denesh Ramdin had to open the batting along with Shai Hope.

Windies will be hoping for both of them to click in Lucknow but the pitch will again play a massive role. The chief curator has said that chasing 130 will be difficult giving hints of another low-scorer.

Silly mistakes are hurting the Windies more than anything else. Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope have been involved in run-outs and this is something that the visitors would like to rectify. Apart from this, Hetmyer fancies himself in the shorter format the most and will be aiming to add more value at that critical number three position.

Kieron Pollard was in good form in the latest edition of the CPL. The Windies will be hoping for their most experienced player in the shorter format to deliver. Pollard adds tremendous value to the side and has been under pressure to score runs.

Windies also will be hoping for Darren Bravo to come good with the bat. The talented left-hander brings a sense of calmness to the Windies middle order. Nicholas Pooran could also be in contention for a spot in the playing XI.

Rovman Powell has let his side down and if he gets another opportunity will be interesting to see.

The positive part for the Windies was their bowling. Oshane Thomas and Carlos Brathwaite both looked lethal and were effective. Keemo Paul was also making the ball talk while the slow left-arm spin of Khary Pierre was decent enough for him to keep his place in the side.

Windies will hope for a better performance with the bat and will aim to replicate their show with the ball if they are to challenge India in Lucknow on November 6.
