MI Junior: Sharadashram Vidyamandir, Cardinal Gracias, Modern English School register wins

Sharadashram Vidyamandir English Medium School (Dadar),Cardinal Gracias High School (Bandra) and Modern English School (Chembur) registered victories in the respective matches in different categories of the ongoing MI Junior Inter-school cricket tournament on Tuesday.

Atharva Shelake slammed a brilliant double hundred (291 off 120) to give Sharadashram Vidyamandir English Medium School (Dadar) a massive 575-run victory against JBCN International School (Borivali) in the MI Junior Boys’ 16 tournament.

JBCN could only manage to score 40 runs, in response to Sharadashram’s mammoth total of 615, in what was a highly one-sided affair.

On the other hand, Swayam Jadhav’s all-round heroics (187 off 108 and 5 for 9) led Cardinal Gracias High School (Bandra) to a convincing 316-run victory against SIWS High School (Wadala) in a Boy's U-16 match.

Elsewhere, Modern English School (Chembur) defeated Vibgyor English School (Airoli) in a stunning 391-run victory in the Boys’ U-14 category. Kanav Saini (105* off 62) scored an unbeaten century for Modern English to lead them to 435 runs, while Soham Sonavane with his seven wickets destroyed Vibgyor’s batting in the second innings with an outstanding 7-wicket haul to restrict them to just 44 runs.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph’s Convent High School (Bandra) 203/1 in 14 overs (Janvi Vasaikar 83*, Rutuja Wandhe 71*) beat Anjuman I Islam High School (Turbhe) 39 all out in 11.5 overs

Riding on Janvi Vasaikar's all-round show (83* and 4 wickets), St. Joseph’s Convent High School (Bandra) beat Anjuman I Islam High School (Turbhe) by 164 runs in a Girl's U-15 match. The other match

In a Boy's U-14 match, Sulochanadevi Singhania School (Thane) beat Ryan International School (Kharghar) by 351 runs, courtesy Ishaan Kandekar's century (195 runs).

On the other hand, Dipen Kene's innings of 134 runs helped All Saints High School (Bhiwandi)  beat St. Francis D’Assisi High School (Borivali) by 97 runs in a Boys's U-16 match. In the other match of the same category, Eklavya Khade's knock of 152 runs led IES VN Sule English School (Dadar) to 133 run-win over Oxford Public School (Kandivali).

In a close Boy's U-14 encounter, Pawar Public School (Bhandup) beat The Scholars English High School (Bhiwandi) by just 1 one after scoring 115/7 in 27.3 overs, courtesy three wickets hauls by Darsh Shah (3-21) and Gaurav Goyal (3-32).

In another low-scoring game in the same category, Euro School (Airoli) after scoring 187 all out in 39 overs, bowled out Hillspring International School (Tardeo) for 116  to register 71 run-win.

Nivaan Sanghvi's five-wicket hual led Christ Church School Clay Road (Byculla) to one-run win over Balmohan Vidyamandir Marathi School (Dadar) in an U-16 Boy's match

Elsewhere, Hiranandani Foundation School (Thane) beat Arya Vidyamandir School (Vile Parle) by just 1 run in a Boy's U-14 match. In the other game of the same category, Anmol Mushannavar's all-round performance (73* and 3 wickets) helped  St. Francis Xaviers School (Kanjurmarg) beat Ryan International School CBSE (Malad)  by 1 runs.
