Bangladesh secure maiden T20I win over India

Bangladesh managed to register their first-ever T20I victory against India in an intriguing battle at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. While India handed an international debut to Shivam Dube, Mohammad Naim was the new face for the visitors.

Rohit Sharma becomes the most capped T20I player for India

Playing his 99th T20 international, Rohit Sharma went past MS Dhoni's tally of 98 T20I matches. He also became the highest run-scorer in the format. However, the Hitman couldn't prolong his stay at the crease as he was trapped in front of the stumps in what was a marginal call.

Washington Sundar - Krunal Pandya show

Wickets at regular intervals and a sluggish track meant that India struggled to accelerate being reduced to 118/5 from 18 overs. However, India ended up scoring 30 runs in the last two overs to reach a respectable total. Both Krunal Pandya and Washington Sundar did some big-hitting when it mattered.

Chahal shines on return

Yuzvendra Chahal who was making a comeback to the T20I side managed to get rid of opener Mohammad Naim in his first over. There were two shouts for an LBW in his next one While India didn't take a review, the big screen displayed that the ball would've gone on to hit the stumps on both occasions. In his last over, Krunal dropped a Mushfiqur Rahim catch near the boundary off his bowling.

Walking out to bat at No.4, Mushfiqur began slowly but steadily. However once the required rate climbed up, Rahim changed his gears. He smashed Khaleel Ahmed for four consecutive boundaries in the penultimate over. He top-scored with 60 runs from just 43 balls.

Bangladesh end their losing streak

While the victory may have cheered up the young Bangladeshi dressing room, they also managed to put an end to their losing streak against India. This was their first-ever win against the Men in Blue in T20Is. The victory also lays the platform for an interesting battle in the upcoming games.

The second T20 international between India and Bangladesh will be played at the SCA stadium in Rajkot on the 7th of November.
