#OnThisDay in 2013: Mumbai Indians reigned supreme (Again!) - CLT20 Champions

6 October 2013 👉 A date every member of our Paltan keeps tucked close to their heart. Because that was the day world cricket witnessed blue brilliance in its purest form.

The boys in Blue & Gold lifted our second CLT20 title, proving once again that when it comes to T20 cricket, there’s the rest… and then there’s MUMBAI INDIANS. 😎

It wasn’t all smooth sailing, though. The boys didn’t exactly start the tournament according to the plan, but once we found the rhythm, there was no stopping us!

Dwayne Smith and Rohit Sharma led the charge with the bat, sending bowlers to the cleaners. Smith was in such surreal form that he racked up 223 runs in just five innings, bagging the Player of the Series award. 🔥

And then came the spin magic. Harbhajan Singh, our very own Turbanator, turned the final into his playground, bamboozling the Rajasthan Royals lineup with a fantastic 4/32 spell to grab the Player of the Match award.

…Add to that Nathan Coulter-Nile’s smart seam work & the bowling unit was pure chaos for any opposition!

When the dust settled, we had indeed done it… World domination, part two! Having already clinched the title in 2011, this second triumph in 2013 stamped MI’s authority as the global powerhouse of T20 cricket. 🌍

But the night carried even more emotion. It wasn't just about the success; it was Master Blaster’s final match for his beloved team. 💙 Following the first-ever IPL trophy earlier that year, this CLT20 triumph became the perfect farewell to the LEGEND.

In a nutshell, it was vintage MUMBAI INDIANS - flair and fight till the very end! Paltan, what’s your favourite 2013 memory? Let us know in the comments… ✍️
