Fun times on MI Live with Ro, MAsh, Mills and Tim David

On the eve of our first match of Tata IPL 2022, hosts Chinmaya Sharma, Kunal Samant, Sameeksha Takke and Binaisha Surti hosted an MI Live session on March 26th.

A few players made special guest appearances on the show for a short period and it was all sorts of fun.

Captain Hitman was the first player to appear on the MI Live and he was in form in his typical jovial style.

“I never come prepared for them, you just have to be yourself and tell them what’s on your mind. And there is no harm in having some fun. It is important to keep it light and real,” chucked Rohit when asked about his funny moments at press conferences.

And he was absolutely buzzing about playing in Mumbai again after two years.

“Fans are allowed in limited capacity but I’m happy to see them back watching one of their favourite tournaments. The buzz, the atmosphere and the whole energy is different when there are fans, so we are looking forward to that,” said Rohit.

“A lot of teams were going on about how MI should not be allowed to play in Mumbai. To that, I just say maybe other cities should have three or four cricket grounds,” he laughed.

The MI Arena has also been a fun new experience for the skipper. “I like the foot volley game there and a lot of guys think they are Messis and Ronaldos but they are really not! They play FIFA all day and this gives them that reality check,” he quipped.

New man Tymal Mills was up next and he was excited to work with Zaheer Khan and Shane Bond in training thus far.

“It’s been great to work with them, both are big names from the years gone by. Obviously love talking to Zaheer, with him being a fellow left-armer and I hopefully pick up a few tips over the next couple of months,” said Mills.

“The camp has some good characters - Ishan (Kishan) is lively, I know a few of the Aussie guys and I’m enjoying learning from the local guys, they have been teaching me carrom. I am hoping to get better at it soon,” he laughed.

Leggie Murugan Ashwin also made an appearance.

“It’s my first time at MI and it’s always good to be in a team that has Rohit Sharma. I have seen his growth and it’s good to play under him,” stated MAsh.

“I try to keep it simple and it’s good practice for me to bowl against guys like Pollard and Tim David in the nets. That pressure at the nets helps me prepare.”

The final guest on the show was power hitter Tim David and he had some fun revelations about himself.

“I spent some time with the young, cheeky guys like Tilak (Varma)! It’s also been great to meet Polly as well, to be able to soak up that experience and bounce some ideas off him. I am fortunate to have that opportunity,” he said.

“There have been quite a few options for my cheat meals - we have some nice chaat counters here. There is a rap video coming out, I do not know much about it but I have been busy with some shoots,” Tim David revealed.
