INDvWI T20I’s: Naman gets his maiden T20I call up, Tilak gets ready for another big show!

Graduating from the school of Blue and Gold to now finding themselves together as part of team INDIA, with West Indies waiting and the five T20I series calling. Our very own boys Naman Dhir and Tilak Varma will be looking to give more than their hundred percent. When the fearless finisher meets the big moment specialist, expect fireworks on the field.

Naman recently received his maiden T20I call up versus West Indies and has been making headlines with his stylish and powerful stroke play. From the glitz of Wankhede Stadium to the glory of the recently concluded Sher-E-Punjab T20 tournament where he scored 655 runs, highest score of 173 demanding attention in the cricketing universe. Naman’s rise turned into a record breaking ride with (173) becoming the highest score in T20’s by an Indian. Also, the fastest century of the tournament during Sher-E-Punjab, the highest score of the league and most importantly the highest individual score across state T20 leagues in India.

Rewarded for his brilliant show, Naman was awarded his ODI debut for India on 27th September 2026 and now it is time for him to shine in the shortest format of the game. He is a complete package that can change the dynamics of the match in a matter of few overs by taking the attack back to the opposition, clearing the ropes and keeping the run rate racing. A genuine all-rounder, he adds value to the team by giving the side another bowling option. That combination of versatility, power, intent and fearless cricket makes him a captain’s delight.

On the other hand, Tilak Varma brings calmness, the ability to read situations, absorb pressure and change gears when necessary. Yet again, the T20I series provides him with another opportunity to showcase his prowess with the bat, stand up and deliver in crunch situations. Our gold medalist at the recently concluded Asian Games played his part to perfection when the occasion demanded versus Pakistan in the final, smashing a quick fire 51*(22), laced with three fours and four sixes. This was another reminder of what TV brings to this Indian side…composure, clarity and control.

T20 cricket is all about finding those players who can give the team something different. Naman could very well be the spark if given a chance, while Tilak can be that glue. When these two ingredients come together, suddenly a batting unit has another dimension. With five games, come new opportunities and challenges in five different venues. The stage is set; our MI boys are ready for another big chapter. Paltan has seen them rise, now we cheer and watch them take on West Indies.
