INDvAFG 2nd ODI: Complete, all-round dominance pockets series!

It was as comprehensive as things could get. On a hot Lucknow afternoon, it was a hot Team India that showed up with an utterly clinical show with both bat and ball to make it 2-0! A 170-run win margin is testament enough.

RO x Ekana

It’s a nice love story this and another chapter played out today, as Rohit Sharma brought forth his typical elegant self, with six fours and two sixes in a 39-ball 48 to set the stage for a massive total.

Classy Gill, smashing Ishan

They were just matching each other shot for shot. The poor Afghan bowlers were left reeling as Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan went on a rampage. While Gill was the classier one, Ishan was simply brute power, and together, complemented each other perfectly as they put on a 224-run stand in just 23.2 overs.

Shubman Gill: 154 runs | 110 balls | 22 fours | 2 sixes

Ishan Kishan: 125 runs | 79 balls | 14 fours | 7 sixes

And this ensured a whopping 402 on the board for the visitors to try and chase to stay alive in the series…

…Not that our pacers were letting them

Although the Afghan openers, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran got off to a solid start, Gurnoor Brar and his extra pace, struck to nick off Gurbaz, and his Punjab team-mate, Arshdeep Singh, followed up shortly after with Zadran’s wicket. With Price Yadav joining the party too, the three shared eight wickets between them as Afghanistan folded out for 232 in 44.3 overs.

That’s 2-0 then. Unassailable. Unstoppable. Let’s go, Indiaaaaaa, Indiaaaaa
