#RRvMI report | Say it out loud... WE ARE THE TABLE TOPPERS!!!

WOAH WOAH WOAH! The boys have turned the Pink City into Blue & Gold in a classic #PlayLikeMumbai style, equalling our record-equalling sixth successive win in IPL history! 🥳

Put in to bat first, it was an absolute cracker of a show by our top four batters, powering us to a daunting total of 217/2… which was eventually defended in some fashion, propelling us to the TOP OF THE TABLE! Here’s how it happened…

Rickelton-RO lit up the Pink City!

The start might have been a tad bit slow, amassing just 16 runs in three overs, but that didn’t deter the duo from going 🔥 in the next few overs, collecting a flurry of boundaries to record their fifty partnership in the powerplay.

📝 #MI – 58/0 (6 overs)

The onslaught didn’t halt in the middle overs either as both batters contributed brilliantly to keep the run rate above nine. Moreover, Hitman completed yet another milestone in an illustrious career, reaching 6,000 IPL runs in the iconic Blue & Gold.

Thereafter, the ninth over saw Ryan भाऊ register his third half-century of the season & his first away from home, much to the delight of the Paltan, who were enjoying the regular flow of boundaries! 🙌

📝 #MI – 99/0 (10 overs)

Rohit’s birthday return gift? Ek maska half-century!

RO yaar, ekdum classss! 🤩

Having completed 6k runs a few overs back, our Mumbaicha Raja kept going to cross 50 in 33 balls, hitting nine fours before an unfortunate dismissal.

Also, thanks to our pair’s raadaaaa, we became the first visiting team to have two 100+ opening stands at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in IPL after Sachin Tendulkar-Dwayne Smith (163*) in 2012. 👏

📝 #MI – 123/2 (13 overs)

SKY आणि HP continue to send bowlers to cleaners!

Seems like Surya दादा has added sweep-la shots to his 360° arsenal! 😉 He kickstarted his knock with a 👌 sweep shot and looked his usual self throughout his stay in the middle.

Soon, he set the record for most consecutive 25+ scores in IPL, breezing past Robin Uthappa in the process.

At the other end, Kung Fu Pandya played the supporting role to perfection, helping keep the scoring rate above 10 with the last three overs remaining.

📝 #MI – 175/2 (17 overs)

…And what happened in those death overs? एक नंबर batting and CLUTCH GOD personified!

Hardik went berserk in the 18th over, accumulating 21 runs off Fazalhaq Farooqi as the team’s scorecard read 217/2, the joint-highest at the venue in IPL! 💪

📝 #MI – 217/2 (20 overs)

**********

Chahar, Boult negate the opening threat

Rightfully so, the 14-year-old has been the talk of the town following his record-breaking innings against GT… BUT NOT TODAY!

While Deepak bhai got the better of the rising star in the first over itself, who departed without disturbing the scorers; Boulty sent Jaiswal’s stumps cartwheeling in the following over! 💥 Shuruwaat bolteeeee…

📝 #RR – 18/2 (1.4 overs)

Todlaaa ree ft. JCB!

Bhaisahab, if this is not SAVAGE PRO MAX, we don’t know what is! 🤯

The wickets kept tumbling, one after the other and in no time, RR found themselves gasping for breath with half of the side back in the pavilion before the end of the powerplay. Who else but our JCB trio could have caused such mayhem??!!

📝 #RR – 47/5 (4.5 overs)

Formalities = wrapped quickly

There was simply no way back from that position for the home team, especially in front of a 🗿 bowling unit BREATHING FIRE.

Impact sub Karn Sharma took care of the middle order, claiming an economical 3/23 in his quota of four overs.

ThunderBOULT bagged the final wicket in the name of Jofra Archer to guide MI to a fancy 💯-run win!!
