#MIvDC report | 𝙌 ho gaya na!! QUALIFIED BOLTEEEE PALTAN!!!

A crazy day at the office meant we now <finally> have that shining Q in front of our name courtesy of a magnificent 59-run triumph. 🥳

Put in to bat first, the tale of the last two overs catapulted us to 180/5. That nusta rada by Surya and Naman… 🤌

…And with our bowlers breathing 🔥 right from the word GO, it was only a matter of time before we breezed into the Playoffs, the #PlayLikeMumbai way! Here’s how it all happened:

Mixed feelings in powerplay

Following RO’s early dismissal, Rickelton-Jacks took the charge to put up runs on the board and did that with some style, smashing a few cracking fours and sixes.

At the end of six overs, our scorecard read 54/2 after Jacks departed with 21 off 13.

SKY-TV stabilise things…

Rickelton’s wicket just after the powerplay meant Tilak Varma joined Surya dada in the middle to steady the ship. ⚓

With the scoreboard at 63/3, the duo navigated their path maturely and added valuable runs, collecting a few boundaries in the next few overs.

Suryakumar Yadav crossed the 25-run mark for the record-extending 13th consecutive occasion as the pair registered a 50-run partnership in the 14th over.

📝 #MI – 108/3 (14 overs)

Dhir in 19th over + Surya in 20th over 👉 ABSOLUTE CINEMA!

The man in form completed his half-century in the 19th over, thanks to five fours and two maximums.

Thereafter, Naman Dhir’s unbeaten 8-ball 24 cameo, including that 27-run penultimate over off Mukesh Kumar, propelled us to 180/5! 💥

Lest we forget SURYAKUMAR YADAV IN HIS ELEMENT in the final over, who joined the party to hit 21 runs in a breathtaking display of power-hitting!

From 132/5 in 18 overs to 180/5 at the end of the innings, it was an absolute treat for Paltan, who screamed shottttt with each passing ball! 😎

**********

Triple treat ft. Chahar, Boulty आणि Jacks

The second innings couldn’t have started any better!

Our trio got rid of the top-three cheaply, much to the delight of Mumbaikars! 👌 Owing to some चाबुक bowling, the visitors found themselves reeling at 27/3 in 4.2 overs.

Wickets pe wickets, #AalaRe!

Two more wickets followed after the powerplay as dangerous-looking Vipraj Nigam and Tristan Stubbs fell to Santner and Bumrah, respectively.

With half of the team 🔙 to pavilion for just 65 on the board, the Hardik Pandya-led side could smell the victory…

Rizvi चा wicket = Floodgates opened

Santner’s 🤌 delivery got rid of Sameer Rizvi (39 off 35) in the 15th over and it was, arguably, GAME. SET. MATCH. then and there!

📝 #DC – 103/6 (14.2 overs)

To conclude, the Boys in Blue and Gold wrapped the proceedings quickly thereafter, collecting the W to Q for the Playoffs.

C’MONNNNNNNNN, CLINICAL VICTORY म्हणतात!!!!! ⚡🤙
