IPL Match 14 | MIvRR Preview: Ending the season with junior Paltan smiling, itβs #ESAMatchDay!
Mumbai Indians step onto the field for one final league stage clash this IPL 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium where we lock horns with Rajasthan Royals. Our boys will be carrying the good vibes from Paltan and the smiles from junior Paltan. Through every boundary and maximum, every wicket taken…the chants remain loud and clear, as we stand united no matter what the result. For these young fans, it is always about cheering for their superheroes till their voices fade and they believe something exciting is brewing. ππ―
One of the most special days awaits us. This ESA (Education and Sports for All) game is always close to all our hearts, where thousands of children get that once in a lifetime opportunity to come watch a game live at the home of Mumbai Indians, the big W. This particular game becomes a celebration of hope, inspiration and possibility to believe in dreams. MI on the other hand would love to sign off with a victory. π
Recalling some iconic moments when MI met RR previously, one cannot forget the great Corey Anderson knock of 95 not out along the Aditya Tare six to chase down the total in 14.4 overs π€―, which helped us win the clash and qualify on NRR in 2014. Also, the most famous 1000th game of IPL was between these two sides in 2023, where MI yet again won a high scoring game chasing down 213 in an iconic chase. π
Unfortunately, during this season RR got the better of us during a rain-affected game. But, it is time to avenge that loss and with one final push, finish off the season on a high note. Expect fireworks as one of the most important matchups arrives right at the top with Yashasvi Jaiswal facing the likes of Bumrah. Boom’s ability to drift the ball away from the left-hander. Suryakumar Yadav on the other hand would be looking to go big versus RR’s spin attack during the middle overs. Rohit Sharma would love to go hammer and tongs during the first six overs against Jofra Archer.
When: 24th May 2026 | 3:30 pm IST
Where: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
What to expect: The Wankhede surface once again will stay true to its identity, red soil, good seam and bounce initially with a quick outfield and plenty of runs. The shorter square boundaries could see more big hits being smashed during the powerplay and death overs. For the bowlers, variations will be key. Change of pace, yorkers and clever use of angles would help garner wickets.
