MI Junior 2024: Kabeer Balmiki and Kalpesh Mishra light up super knockouts in Mumbai

A sensational knock by Kabeer Balmiki (172* off 110) guided R.R. Education Trust (Mulund) to a comprehensive 239-run victory over N.L. Dalmia High School (Mira Road) in an MI Junior Boys’ Under-14 super knockout (round of 32) fixture in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Kabeer’s stroke-filled innings took R.R. Education to a massive total of 366, before N.L. Dalmia were restricted to just 127 runs in their allotted 40 overs.

In another match in the same category, Kalpesh Mishra (148* off 125) smashed the Podar International School CBSE (Powai) bowlers to all parts of the ground to propel KC Gandhi English School (Kalyan) to an impressive total of 282.

Shreejeet Vikas Jadhav (4 for 26) and Saish Dinesh Khorjuvearr (3-21) finished the job for KC Gandhi, bowling out Podar International for 161 runs.

Elsewhere, Praanav Iyengar (109* off 99) slammed an unbeaten century to drive Modern English School (Chembur) to a challenging total of 246/7 in 40 overs against Tarapur Vidyamandir (Palghar) in another Boys’ Under-14 super knockout clash.

Tarapur Vidyamandir were then limited to just 99 runs.

Meanwhile, in a Girls’ Under-15 league game, Kasturi Shah (7-8) ran riot to dismiss Expert International School (Virar) for a measly 35 runs, which were easily chased down by St. Columba School (Gamdevi) in 1.5 overs.
