Nagpur: Veer Donode’s All-Round Heroics Powers Shri Rajendra High School to Commanding 95-Run Triumph

Shri Rajendra High School dominated proceedings to register a resounding 95-run victory over Kurvey’s New Model Public School in a league match of the Mumbai Indians Junior Under-16 Boys Inter School Cricket Tournament 2026.

After opting to bat first, Shri Rajendra High School got off to a shaky start despite Vishesh Chawda’s solid 44 as they lost wickets at regular intervals and were in a spot of bother at 109 for 6. The bowling attack, spearheaded by Anvesh Jadhav – who eventually scalped an impeccable 5-wicket haul – seemed to run away with the contest. At this stage Veer Donode and Atharva Bajad forged a crucial 60-run stand for the 7th wicket, before the latter was dismissed for 38. However, Veer Donode kept the momentum going as he batted till the end only to be dismissed after reaching his century. Veer Donode’s prolific and pyrotechnic century propelled Shri Rajendra High School to a towering total of 270 runs before they were bowled out.

In response, Kurvey’s New Model Public School began the run chase well and were in a commanding position at 105 runs for the loss of 2 wickets, courtesy a fine and solid half-century by opener Rajas Vaidya. However, the batting line-up collapsed quickly thereafter as they were bundled out 175 runs. The bowling trinity of Veer Donode (3/25), Shourya Varma (3/43) and Atharva Bajad (2/24) struck at regular intervals to hand Shri Rajendra High School a comprehensive 95-run win.
