MI Junior 2026: Wanjari and Wani Star as Team B Dominate Team A

In a what turned out to be a balanced battle between scintillating batting and shrewd bowling, Team B emerged victorious to thump Team A by a decisive margin of 65 runs in a league match of the Mumbai Indians Junior Boys Rising Star League 2026.

After being put into bat, Team B began proceedings dominantly as they got off to a flyer with a 67-run opening stand between Faizan Syed (33) and Arjun Parsawar (30). Capitalising on an ideal start, Rohit Wanjari and Gaurav Wani forged a 96-run partnership for the 5th wicket with the former going on to score a prolific and crafty half-century worth 69 runs. At the other end, Gaurav Wani remained unbeaten on 41 as he powered Team B to a decisive total of 219 runs in their stipulated 40 overs. Anukalp Wankhede starred with ball in hand for Team A as he picked up 4 crucial wickets and contributed significantly to steaming the run-flow at the business end of the innings.

In response, Team A’s chase never truly gained the required momentum as they were bundled out for 154 in 34.5 overs. While Atharva Chaudhari fought a lone battle with a resilient 40, the rest of the batting order struggled against a relentless Team B attack. Viraj Kapgate’s gritty knock of 35 runs was the only silver lining for Team D as they were bowled out for just 111 runs by a spirited and disciplined bowling attack, led by Arav Trivedi (3/22). In the second innings, Viraj Saraf’s impeccable bowling saw him scalp 3 early wickets before a 67-run unbeaten stand between Tanish Ade (40 n.o) and Veer Jadhav (32 n.o), guided Team C to a convincing win with 6 wickets to spare.

In an extremely one-sided contest, Team A decimated Team B to register a domineering 9-wicket victory. after being put into bat, Team B failed to build any substantial partnerships and bundled out for just 72 runs. On the bowling front, Vidhi Karnik spearheaded the attack scalping 4 wickets while receiving able support from skipper Janvi Bishnoi (2/20) and Aliza Anthony (2/20).
