MI Junior: Arqam Syed, Aditya, Yashaswi and others shine for their teams

Mohammed Arqam Syed, Aditya Pandit, Yashaswi Waghmare and others produced match-winning performances for their respective teams in the pune leg of the MI Junior Inter School Cricket tournament on Wednesday.

Mohammed Arqam Syed’s all-round heroics (197 and 5-28) led Anglo Urdu Boys High School, Camp to a whopping 365-run win against Aaryans World School, Warje in an MI Junior U-16 league game in Pune.

Opting to bat, Anglo Urdu Boys notched up a mammoth 416 runs, with Mohammed falling agonisingly close to a stunning double ton.

Brimming with confidence, Mohammad then picked up the new ball and tore down Aaryans World School’s batting with an exceptional 5-wicket haul, bundling them out for 51.

In the U-14 category, medium-pacer Aditya Pandit took a stellar 7-wicket haul (7-18) to lead Vidya Bhavan High School, Shivaji Nagar to a dominant 6-wicket victory.

Aditya was the pick of the bowlers for Vidya Bhavan, taking a brilliant seven-for to demolish opponents MVM’s Panditrao Agashe School, Prabhat Road for a miniscule 33 runs. Despite a shaky start, Vidya Bhavan sailed to victory in just 4.2 overs.

Meanwhile, in the Girls' U-15 category, Yashaswi Waghmare was the star of the show in Jai Hind High School’s 93-run win over Aaryans World School, Warje.

Yashaswi was stranded at 99, before the innings came to a close, batting from start to finish to take the total to 188. In response, Aaryans World School could only manage to score 95 runs in the stipulated 15 overs with Vaishnavi Singh claiming 3-7.

In another Girls' U-15 match, Angel Mickey Minie School, Hadapsar won by walkover against Prodigy Public School, Wagholi.

Elsewhere, superb performances from Ansh Tilloo (3-16) and (Neel Takale 35*) led The Kalyani School, Hadapsar Manjari to a dominant win over Prodigy Public School, Wagholi, who were bowled out for 75 runs in a Boy's U-14 match.

In another match of the same category, PODAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, WAKAD won by walkover against VIDYASHILP PUBLIC SCHOOL, KONDHWA BUDRUK.

Adak Abhinandan's brilliant fifer (5-11) along with fifties from Kondbhar Chaitanya (62), Jadhav Shrinivas (54), Ganji Samarth (51) led Seth Dagaduram Katariya High School,Gultekdi to an impressive 129 run-win over Aaryan World School, Bhilarewadi, Katraj in a Boy's U-16 match.

Chasing a total of 272 runs, Aaryan World School could only score 142 runs with Atharva Gawade (39) being the top-scorer. 

Arjun Mahuli's all-round show (32 and 2-28) led Vibgyor High School,Balewadi to a thrilling three-run win over Symbiosis School, Prabhat Road in a Boy's U-14 match.

In a 158 run chase, Pushkar Sukale hit a fine fifty (59) but Arnav Madhugiri (3-28) and Arjun Mahuli (2-28) superb bowling performance helped Vibgyor team restrict Symbiosis School, Prabhat Road to 154 runs.
