MI’s first afternoon training session in Abu Dhabi
The Mumbai Indians squad gathered for their first afternoon training session of the season at the Zayed Cricket Stadium on Sunday. The weather was quite hot in Abu Dhabi with the temperature rising to 38-degree celsius.
Saurabh Tiwary, who was at the training facility, said “The temperature is quite high so it will take time to adjust but it is too hot. This is my first experience playing under such conditions."
Anmolpreet, Surya and Tare bat in the nets
The cricketers followed their normal warm-up routine before hitting the nets. It was the domestic batting trio of Anmolpreet Singh, Suryakumar Yadav and Aditya Tare, who were the first ones to pad up with action happening across four nets.
The new entrants
The new faces in the MI squad, Prince Balwant Rai and Digvijay Deshmukh also took part in the cricketing action alongside the seasoned campaigners. While Prince is a leg spinner, Digvijay is an all-rounder who bowls fast-medium pace.
“Enjoyed having a hit”Jayant Yadav is another cricketer who adds a lot of value to the current MI side. His batting in the lower order, as well as his off-spin, will be crucial in these conditions. The all-rounder who has been a part of the franchise since 2019 shared his thoughts after a tiring session.
"We just finished our first afternoon session in Abu Dhabi. Although it was hot, we enjoyed coming out there in the sun, just having a hit in the nets, being out in the open and able to chat with everybody. It was a good session."
Stay tuned for more such updates from our upcoming training sessions.
