Mumbai Indians, champions of the 2013 IPL season will take on the winner of 2014 Kolkata Knight Riders to kick-start the eighth season of Pepsi IPL at the Eden Gardens on April 8.

This year, IPL will be played over 47 days, featuring 60 matches including the four playoffs and the finals. The IPL 2015 final will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Pune’s MCA International Stadium is back among the IPL venues and will be hosting three home games of Kings XI Punjab, meanwhile for Rajasthan Royals, Ahmedabad’s Motera stadium will be the home ground.

Even though the on-field action is still two months away, the management of all eight teams would be spending more time in the board room for next four days, strategizing their moves for the upcoming IPL auction, scheduled on February 16 at Bangaluru. For Mumbai Indians, the new head coach Ricky Ponting is already in town to provide his valuable inputs.
