“Given a lot of confidence and control in my bowling by my captain and coach”: Will Jacks
The Boys in Blue & Gold are all set to take on the Punjab Kings, with a potential win guaranteeing a place in Qualifier 1 on Thursday.
Meanwhile, preparations have been going full tilt in Jaipur. We are placed fourth in the TATA IPL 2025 points table with 16 points, only one behind the Shreyas Iyer-led team in second.
Ahead of a mighty clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday, Will Jacks spoke on the mood in the camp.
“The camp is feeling good. We have been progressing nicely throughout the whole competition. We were playing well, and then we had the break. But since we’ve come back, we’ve been feeling good. We feel like we just fit back into how we were before,” Jacks said.
“My role has been flexible. I have been, obviously, at number three or sometimes had to go down later. I am happy to play whatever role the team needs me to do.
“We have an incredibly strong batting lineup, and sometimes that means that some situations are better-suited to other players. I have loved my time, have been really happy,” added the English all-rounder while speaking on his role this season.
Furthermore, Jacks added that he has been happy with his bowling this season.
“I have been given a lot of confidence and control in my bowling by my captain (Hardik Pandya) and coach. Hardik’s been bigging me up when I am out there and giving me that boost, and I have been really happy with it.”
Meanwhile, he also praised Suryakumar Yadav, who has been in stellar form so far this season.
“SKY is absolutely brilliant. To be consistent, as he has in every game, is really tricky; we all know that. He prepares for each venue and each bowler he is going to play. He has his plan, and he sticks to that, which contributes a lot to his consistency. I have definitely learnt a lot watching him,” stated Jacks.
