WPL Match 9 | RCBvMI preview: Refreshed, rejuvenated for MISSION SIMPLY-MUST-WIN-EVERYTHING

It’s simple. We’ve had a five day break to reassess. This break has also given us a chance to see where other teams get to. And here’s what we’ve realized: we just have to win everything, hope a couple of results go our way, and our NRR should take care of the rest.

L, W, W, L, L, L. The results might not have gone in our favour, but none of our defeats have been one-sided. There have always been major positives to draw out – like our Kaptaan Kaur’s form, or Aaplii Nat’s all-round brilliance, or Amelia’s firki, or even debutant Vaishnavi Sharma’s maturity at 20. One win, and our MI Spirit will awaken!

It’s almost like things coming a complete circle for us. A lot has happened since the last time these two sides met each other in the first game of this year’s WPL. This was where we suffered a major heartbreak, losing a game that should have been ours. This is where we’ll make amends. This is the business end. This is where we peak. This is where we know to win.

What: Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Mumbai Indians

What to expect: So the black soil pitches over here in Vadodara haven’t quite been free flowing for the batters, with some mid-scoring thrillers seen. This promises to be no different, with RCB having qualified and MI desperate to get back on the winning horse.
