WPL weekly star-tracker (Aug 12): The Hundred, INDAvAUSA and much more..
They say you aren’t meant to be consistent in white-ball cricket. They also say getting out cheaply is a part and parcel of your white-ball journey. Clearly they haven’t met Natalie Sciver-Brunt. It’s just another regular week of her smashing runs for fun in The Hundred. Also India A travelled Down Under, suffered a whitewash at the hands of Australia A in the T20 series, but we’ve found a slight silver lining. Read on..
The Hundred
Nat Sciver-Brunt (Trent Rockets): Two must-win games for the Rockets, and guess who stepped up? A 12-ball 21 while batting first against London Spirit to set the platform in the win, and then an epic 37-ball 60 against Southern Brave to lift her side to a winning score of 155 and into the top four on the points table.
Chloe Tryon (Southern Brave): A lone fighting hand in the chase of 156 against the Rockets (yea, the same game where Nat smashed her 60), Chloe’s 31-ball 47 got them close, but sadly, it wasn’t enough.
Hayley Matthews (Welsh Fire): Sophie Devine, Amy Jones, Richa Ghosh – quite the names to have in your pocket. Aapli Hayley, against Birmingham Pheonix had the trio, and then anchored the chase of 122 with a 38-ball 35. It was one of those days though where even this wasn’t enough to get her side over the line, but Welsh Fire are still sitting comfortably at the top of the table.

Australia A vs India A
Sajana Sajeevan: Not the best of tours for our star of the season. With scores of 1, 9 and 10 in the three games, it’s been a steep learning curve, something that’s bound to hold her in good stead come the next series.
Saika Ishaque: The most-impressive bowler in the first T20, finishing with figures of 3/33 in her four overs, Saika didn’t take long to find her rhythm, pulling things back and restricting the Aussies to 163.
