WPL weekly star-tracker (Jan 29): Aapli Mumbai-Kerr bags another title, this time with Wellington Women
Amelia Kerr has pocketed another trophy, this time as captain. Nat and Hayley have pocketed ICC awards. And a whole host of our girls have been busy in the Indian domestic circuit. Here’s a section that will cover everything MI and newsy from the last week. Read on..
Women’s Super Smash NZ
Amelia Kerr: After carrying the Wellington Women to the Final of the Super Smash with a spell of 4-0-19-2 and then a 48*(35) in the final league game, Amelia Kerr continued her golden run in a thrilling low-scoring final. In a low-scoring rain-affected game that was reduced to 17 overs, she was the top scorer for her side with 35, and then snuck in four quiet overs for just 14 runs as Central Districts Women lost two wickets off the last two balls of their innings to hand Wellington a stunning one-run win!

Senior Women’s One Day Trophy
Keerthana Balakrishnan: Two wickets with the ball, a lone effort of 47 with the bat, but sadly for Keerthana Balakrishnan, Uttarakhand were too good on the day in the second Quarter Final, knocking Tamil Nadu out in the process.

South Africa tour of Australia
Chloe Tryon: A solid spell of 0/13 in three overs in the first T20I, and an equally miserly spell of 0/10 in two in the second T20I, with the opportunity to be out there and smash the winning runs – Chloe Tryon’s having a solid return to South African colours.

Women’s u-23 One Day Trophy
Amandeep Kaur: A valiant effort with the ball against Rajasthan (1/46 in 10 overs), but it wasn’t enough to avoid Haryana defeat as they succumbed by four wickets. In the next game, she was stingier in her economy (0/38 in ten overs), helping Haryana restrict Goa to just 189, thereby winning by 67 runs.
Jintimani Kalita: In a thrilling low-scoring encounter against Maharashtra, Jinti took the vital wicket of their skipper and their highest scoere to lead Assam to a seven-run victory. She kept the stranglehold against the Himachal Pradesh batters with her spell of 7-2-19-1, helping skittle them out for a paltry 120.
