11:00 PM IST - The first-ever team to win five titles. Back-to-back IPL wins. The way they have dominated the tournament has been worth applauding. Brilliant start from Quinton, Rohit carrying it forward and leading from the front in the night of the finals and Ishan staying till the end. Couldn't have been better for the men in Blue and Gold. Played like champions throughout the tournament.

10:32 PM IST - Stoinis has been brought back into the attack. After two singles in the first three deliveries, Ishan hits it for a maximum straight down the ground. He currently holds the record for most sixes this season with 30 maximums. 10 runs from the over.

10:27 PM IST - Axar also comes in for his last over. Both batsmen don't take any risk as they pick four singles in the over. 41 runs required off 36 balls.

10:18 PM IST - Rabada comes into bowl as DC look to capitalize. Three singles in the first four deliveries before Rohit ends the over with back-to-back boundaries towards deep midwicket and deep backward point. The skipper also crosses his fifty, his second half-century in the IPL final.

10:14 PM IST - Ashwin comes into the attack. On the fifth delivery, Rohit took off for a single after playing it towards extra cover. Suryakumar told no but Rohit had already reached a long way. He ends up crossing the crease and sacrifices his wicket.

9:49 PM IST - Quinton departs after edging one to the wicketkeeper off Stoinis. Suryakumar Yadav who comes in at number three starts his innings with a boundary towards the cover region followed by a six over fine leg. On the final delivery, Rohit manages to get it past point. A dive from Rabada keeps it down to a couple of runs.

9:45 PM IST - Anrich Nortje joins the attack. Rohit flicks the first delivery towards mid-wicket for a double. After a couple of dots, a classic nataraja shot towards backward square leg for a boundary. Then on the final ball, a classic pull shot hit over deep midwicket for a maximum. The required rate is seven now.

9:40 PM IST - Ashwin comes back for his second over. Three singles in the first five deliveries. Quinton then pulls the final ball towards deep mid-wicket for a boundary.

9:37 PM IST - An all Protea show in the middle as Rabada marks his run-up against Quinton. The wicket-keeper batsman has unleashed himself against the Purple Cap holder. A boundary over covers, then a six towards deep midwicket and then another four towards backward point. The four leg byes on the third delivery make it 18 runs in the over.

9:33 PM IST - Ravichandran Ashwin starts the proceedings for DC and begins with two dot balls. Rohit then hits the third delivery over long-on for a maximum before taking a single. Eight runs from the first over.

9:22 PM IST - MI gained momentum early into the innings but the partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant has revived DC. Both scored half-centuries to take DC beyond 150. Can MI chase this total and win their fifth title? We shall know soon.

9:14 PM IST - Coulter-Nile to bowl the final over. Axar Patel mistimes one towards deep mid-wicket and substitute Anukul Roy makes no mistake. He follows it up with two dot balls after which Iyer hits the penultimate ball for a maximum over deep-midwicket. Just a single on the last delivery as Rabada is run out. DC put up 156/7 in their quota of 20 overs.

9:08 PM IST - Bumrah comes in for the penultimate over. Three singles followed by a leg bye where Bumrah seems convinced it's hitting the stumps. Opts for a review and he's right, but the impact is umpire's call. Keeps it down to just six runs in the over.

9:03 PM IST - A slower delivery from Boult and Shimron Hetmyer steers it straight to the fielder at short third-man. Third wicket for the left-arm pacer.

Axar Patel who comes in at number seven manages to hit a short and wide delivery past third man for a boundary. Six runs from the over.

8:57 PM IST - Bumrah comes in for his third over and Iyer hits it straight down the ground for a boundary. Later in the over, he gets another boundary towards backward point. Iyer also completes his half-century.

8:52 PM IST - Jayant comes in for his final over. After Iyer takes a single on the first delivery, he bowls consecutive dots to Hetmyer and keeps it tight. However, the final delivery has been hit for a boundary over extra cover. Jayant finishes with 1/25 in his four-over quota.

8:47 PM IST - Krunal goes for nine runs after the final delivery is sweeped past short fine leg for a boundary. Pant then goes after Coulter-Nile with back-to-back boundaries towards fine leg and then over the wicketkeeper. First fifty for him this season. Pant tries to go for another one but finds Hardik who was back to fine leg and takes an easy catch.

8:41 PM IST - Mahela Jayawardene: "I think we had a great start but lost a bit of momentum. We are one wicket away from getting back into the game. I had a chat with leadership group on what we can execute during the time-out. Looks like it's going to be a good final. The guys have played some brilliant cricket to get here. Just need to make sure we continue. The last six overs are crucial for us."

8:34 PM IST - Coulter-Nile comes back to bowl his second over. Five singles and a dot off a yorker as the second strategic time-out has been taken. Both Pant and Iyer have recovered DC from the early slump and put them in a good position.

8:29 PM IST - As Iyer and Pant build a partnership in the middle, Rohit gives the ball to Bumrah. He keeps it tight with just six runs in the over. Kieron Pollard now comes into bowl. Pant manages to get past the fielder at point to get a boundary. Then on the final delivery, Iyer hits a maximum over mid-wicket to make it 13 runs from the over.

8:18 PM IST - After having spent ample time at the crease, Pant decides to take on Krunal as he hits two maximums, over the bowler's head and then towards deep mid-wicket. 16 runs in the over as halfway there, DC are 75/3.

8:01 PM IST - Nathan Coulter-Nile joins the attack. He starts off with consecutive dots to Shreyas Iyer. A difficult chance on the third delivery as Ishan Kishan dives to his right at covers. Iyer then gets a boundary on the fifth ball. DC are 41/3 at the end of the powerplay.

7:57 PM IST - Boult continues his third over. Two boundaries from Iyer, the first one past mid-off and the second towards extra cover. 10 runs from the over.

7:51 PM IST - Spin has been introduced as Jayant Yadav comes into bowl. Rohit had hinted earlier in the pre-match press conference that the off-spinner will be handy against the lefties in DC batting lineup. The ploy works as Jayant has got Dhawan bowled. Rishabh Pant is the new man in at number four.

7:45 PM IST - Dhawan slams a boundary towards cover on the first delivery. A couple of balls later, Boult swings it down the leg side only to get a faint nick from Rahane's bat to the wicketkeeper. He has struck twice in two overs.

Shreyas Iyer who comes in at number four gets going with a boundary. A short delivery and he hits it over Quinton de Kock for a four. Nine runs but a wicket from the over.

7:41 PM IST - Jasprit Bumrah comes into the attack. The third delivery finds Dhawan's edge but goes over the wicket-keeper for a boundary. He finishes off with another good delivery which hits Rahane's pads after getting an inside edge.

7:36 PM IST - Boult strikes on the first delivery. Stoinis has edged one to the wicket-keeper as he departs for a golden duck.
