292 cricketers to go under the hammer for IPL Auction 2021

The BCCI on Thursday announced the player list for IPL Auction 2021. A total of 292 players are set to go under the hammer in Chennai on 18th February 2021.

Ten players have set their base price at INR 2 crores which is the highest bracket. It includes Harbhajan Singh, Shakib Al Hasan, Steve Smith, Kedar Jadhav, Mark Wood, Jason Roy, Liam Plunkett, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, and Glenn Maxwell.

There will be a total of 164 Indian cricketers, 125 overseas cricketers, and 3 cricketers from Associate Nations available in the auction. The Auction will start at 3 PM on Thursday.

Mumbai Indians have seven slots available

Earlier, the defending champions released seven players including Lasith Malinga, Mitchell McClenaghan, Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Pattinson, Sherfane Rutherford, Prince Balwant Rai, and Digvijay Deshmukh.

This leaves them with seven spots to fill including four overseas ones. It will be interesting to see what strategy the MI management have in mind. Out of the last eight IPL seasons, MI has emerged victorious on five occasions.
