If cricket had a time machine and Paltan could turn back the clock to watch their favourite team win an ICC title, it would definitely be the final of the T20 World Cup on 29th June 2024 in Barbados 🥹. Back then history was not just written in ink, it was carved into every Indian’s heart and soul. That final over, silent prayers and cheering before every delivery was indeed pure goosebumps. It was a night that turned nerves into nostalgia and dreams into destiny. Today, exactly two years later that magical final is a reminder of what happens when courage, belief and hard work refuses to fade. That win became part of the nation’s heartbeat. Time may have passed, but the emotions remain untouched. 💙

Recalling India’s road to glory, which was nothing short of phenomenal. The Men in Blue remained unbeaten through the whole tournament. They put on a stellar show during each match, blending explosive batting performances with great bowling shows and exceptional fielding. They started off their campaign against Ireland and from there onwards it was no looking back. India dominated the group stage to overcome the Australian hurdle during the super eights and edged past England during the semi-final. 💪

India had one goal and a mission…to add another trophy to their cabinet. Every player stepped up when the occasion demanded, making the entire campaign a complete team effort under Rohit Sharma’s leadership.👏

Paltan, lets walk down memory lane and relive what happened during that epic final. Batting first, India notched up 176/7 in their 20 overs courtesy a great 76 from Virat Kohli and a well-earned 47 from Axar Patel. Anrich Nortje scalped 2/26 in his four overs. In reply, South Africa could only manage 169/8 in 20 overs as Heinrich Klaasen top scored with 52. David Miller’s wicket was the last nail in the coffin with Suryakumar Yadav taking that iconic catch at long-off to seal the deal for India. Hardik Pandya picked a three-wicket haul, 3/20 in his three overs while Bumrah grabbed 2/18. The unbeaten run finally culminated with India winning the T20 World Cup versus South Africa by a thrilling margin of seven runs.

Every core memory of that victory still brings a smile on our faces while each anniversary reminds us why that night in Barbados will forever be painted in blue. 29th June- not just a date… it was India’s dream fulfilled by destiny! 💙🥹
