Abhishek, Sanju go 💥💥

Opting to bat first, the No. 1 T20I batter proved his credentials yet again and scored a solid 38 off 15 to set the tone.

Thereafter, Sanju Samson came in to anchor the innings as the team kept the scoreboard ticking to reach 100/3 in 10 overs.

The right-handed batter amassed a fine 45-ball 56 before departing in the 18th over, well supported by Tilak Varma and Axar Patel.

Axar, TV ensure a big total

While Axar Patel chipped in with a handy 26-run knock, our Varmaji added another 29 from his kitty. At the end of 20 overs, India’s scoreboard read 188/8.

Chase gets off to a good start

With 189 in sight, Oman openers stitched a decent 56-run partnership before Kuldeep Yadav finally got rid of their skipper Jatinder Singh for 32 in the ninth over.

At the halfway mark, the game stood evenly poised, even though Oman needed 127 runs to win with nine wickets in hand.

Oman up the ante

The Indian bowlers visibly looked on the back foot as Hammad Mirza joined Aamir Kaleem in the middle, dealing in boundaries throughout the middle overs phase.

Kaleem, soon, crossed his half-century in the 16th over and just when the situation looked grim, Kung Fu Pandya grabbed a stunner at fine leg to pull things back for India!

That prized wicket of Aamir Kaleem turned the tide in the defending champions’ favour.

Moreover, Arshdeep Singh completed 100 T20I wickets after Vinayak Shukla’s dismissal in the final over, becoming the first Indian to achieve the milestone.

In the end, the Indian cricket team emerged triumphant by 21 runs, much to the delight of the fans.
