AUSvIND, 2nd T20I: NOOO… Aussies take 1-0 lead

By Mumbai Indians

A challenging day at the office saw Team India go down by four wickets.

Asked to bat first, Abhishek Sharma top-scored for the Men in Blue with a brilliant 68 off 37, helping the team post 125/10 in 18.4 overs. Thereafter, the hosts chased down the target within 14 overs.

Here’s how the encounter unfolded at The MCG.

Abhishek Sharma’s fireworks

The Southpaw yet again showed why he is the No. 1 batter in the shortest format of the game.

He came out all guns blazing from the onset and continued to toy with the opposition bowlers en route to his 37-ball 68, laced with eight fours and two sixes.

Harshit Rana’s supporting act

Although the visitors kept losing wickets at regular intervals, it was Harshit who added valuable runs to spare the blushes.

The right-handed batter, promoted up the order, scored 35 off 33 balls as the Indian cricket team’s scorecard read 125/10.

Aussies take the game home

With a target of 126 in sight, the Marsh-Head duo provided the perfect start to their side.

While Travis Head departed after an attacking 15-ball 28 thanks to a stunning catch by our STARBOY, Marsh continued his onslaught to smash 46 off 26 balls.

At 90/3, they required 36 runs with more than 10 overs in hand, which was easily chased in the 14th over, not until BOOM claimed two back-to-back wickets in the penultimate over to get the better of Mitchell Owen & Matthew Short.

Surya and Co. will now look to bounce back and level the series in the third T20I, scheduled to take place in Hobart on Sunday, November 2.
