BOOM, BOOM BOOMRAHHHHH: The GOAT, the LEDGE
Big match nights, batters taking their stance, the sling action comes by with a zoom, a deadly yorker lands perfectly and the red lights come on- Boom Boom! Paltan, Bumrah ne kar diya opposition ko gumrah. ✨🫡
Big crunch games demand match winners. When the stakes are high… our very own champion rises to the occasion time and again adding his genius and magical touch 🔥. The T20 WC was no different. Our Boom was the joint highest wicket taker, with 14 wickets in his 8 games. When all other bowlers were being pelted for runs, JB’s economy read as 6.21. 👏
During the semi-final at Wankhede, India were in the middle of a run-fest versus England. The stakes were high; the Englishmen were looking to dominate. Boundaries and maximums were flowing like a river and the pressure was slowly creeping up for the Indians. That is when captain Suryakumar Yadav tossed the ball to our magician Boom Boom💥. He stood up to the occasion and picked the wicket of Harry Brook, first delivery of his spell…slower ball and in a flash the catch was taken by Axar Patel.
With his trademark control and calmness, he choked the opposition by squeezing the run rate. 🆒, collective, and calculative under pressure he gave away just 12 runs in his 2nd over. England needed just 69 runs to win off the last 5 overs when JB was brought back into the attack. Death over specialist- the 16th and 18th overs held key as mighty boom gave away just 8 and 6 runs respectively (1/33) in 4 overs. 💪

The ultimate stage was set for the finale as India took on New Zealand at Ahmedabad. Come the big stage, it was all about nerves. But is Bumrah even human? Does he not feel the pressure? That is his greatest weapon, not showing emotions while he bowls…While others feel the heat, he thrives under pressure📈. A perfect yorker, mostly back-to-back, clever change of pace, excellent execution with clever variations…and phew we are in awe of him. Yet again he struck key blows.
3.1- first delivery, slower ball, pace off and Boom… you beauty…dismissed Rachin Ravindra giving away just 4 runs ⚡. Then came the 16th over…James Neesham and Matt Henry fell in successive deliveries ⚡⚡. In the battle of the blue and gold, Mitch Santner too was walloped by the mastermind ⚡. Bumrah bowled 21 off his 24 balls pace off during the finale, ending with figures (4/15), Eco-3.8. 🔥💙
It's simple, when needed-dial B for Bumrah on field. That one ball changes everything- the unmissable sound of leather crashing into the stumps-BOOM. 🏆😎🔝
