ENGvIND, 4th Test: BRAVE, RESILIENT INDIA ensure Manchester battle ends in deadlock!
Another Test, another five days of nerve-wracking action! 💯
The fourth match of the India tour of England 2025 ended in a draw, despite the home team looking more likely to seal the series for the majority part of the game.
Rishabh Pant’s inspiring grit, Joe Root’s record-breaking century, Shubman Gill’s fourth ton of the series, Jadeja-Sundar-Stokes’s all-round contributions… Talking points aplenty! 🗣️
How did the five days unfold at Old Trafford? Here we go…
DAY 1 | Southpaws take the centre stage
Put in to bat <yet again>, the KL-YBJ pair took the challenge head-on to put up 94 for the opening stand under overcast conditions, with Yashasvi Jaiswal notching his half-century.

Coming in at 3, Sai Sudharshan recorded his maiden fifty in Tests, scoring 61 with the help of seven fours. 👏
However, in an unfortunate turn of events, Rishabh Pant got hit on his toe by Chris Woakes in the 68th over when he was batting at 37, forcing him to retire hurt. 😕
📝 Stumps, Day 1: IND - 264/4 (83 overs)
DAY 2 | THE moment ft. WARRIOR PANT
Team India added another 94 runs to their overnight score to finish at 358/10.
Nonetheless, the "moment hai bhai moment hai" came when Pant, nursing a toe fracture, appeared from the dugout to bat when his team needed him the most, scoring 54 runs. Only salute for you, Spidey! 🫡

The English openers, Crawley-Duckett, kickstarted on a strong note, stitching a 166-run partnership to put the visitors on the back foot.
Both of 'em registered individual fifties before getting dismissed in the third session as debutant Anshul Kamboj bagged his maiden wicket in international cricket.
📝 Stumps, Day 2: ENG - 225/2 (46 overs) trail by 133 runs
DAY 3 | Grind continues...
A challenging day on the field meant the Indian cricket team had to work hard for each wicket.
While Joe Root enjoyed a record-breaking innings en route to his 150, Ollie Pope's 71 and Ben Stokes' unbeaten 77 placed their team in the driver's seat.
📝 Stumps, Day 3: ENG - 544/7 (135 overs) lead by 186 runs
DAY 4 | Advantage England, but it’s far from over
There was no respite for the away team as Englishmen stretched their lead to 311 runs. Captain Ben Stokes scored a terrific 141 and tailenders added valuable runs to power their side to 669/10, the highest Team total in Tests in Manchester.
Coming in to bat, India endured an underwhelming start with the scorecard reading 0/2 in the first over itself. Thankfully, KL Rahul & Shubman Gill came to the rescue, finishing the day on a high, unbeaten on their respective fifties.

📝 Stumps, Day 4: IND - 174/2 (63 overs) trail by 137 runs
DAY 5 | Stalemate it is!
Captain Gill rose to the occasion with a sublime century amidst pain, just as he has throughout the series.
Jaddu-Washi’s fantastic stand in the second session wiped off the deficit, much to the relief of the Indian dugout.
Thereafter, it was only a matter of time before the inevitable happened, with both sides sharing spoils. 🤝 Well, not before some animated moments in the last hour of play & splendid centuries by Jadeja (107*) and Sundar (101*).
