Queens of Asia, 2026 - INDIAAAA!!!
The crown is back where it belongs, team India lift their eighth Women’s Asia Cup title (ODI:2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 T20: 2012, 2016, 2022, 2026) with a 72 runs win, beating defending champions Sri Lanka at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India clinched their fourth title under our very own Kaptaan Harmanpreet Kaur. The stadium indeed turned into a sea of Blue as the Indian supporters rallied behind our girls.
The Women in Blue put their best foot forward through the entire tournament and remained unbeaten till the very end. Starting off their campaign during the group stage, India won against Thailand by a comprehensive 94 runs, they followed it up with a 137-run victory versus Hong Kong and China and later clinched their third game by seven wickets against rivals Pakistan. During the semi-final, India overpowered Bangladesh by 40 runs and thus advanced into the final.
A complete team effort from start to finish. Different games brought different stars to the forefront. From the top order setting the tone, to the bowlers delivering under pressure, the experienced campaigners leading the way and finally the young guns stepping up when the situation demanded. Every player chipped in with vital contributions, adding another piece of ‘WIN’ to complete the championship puzzle.
India has reminded the world, when this side gets going, there is simply no stopping them. With history written, India Women are champions of Asia.
