INDvENG Report- A thriller, and INDIA STORM INTO THE FINAL!!! Wankhede, you beauty!

By Mumbai Indians

Bumrah magical. The genius ran in, the stadium buzzed, and choked the run-chase. Hardik classy. Kung-fu Pandya backed it up with some death-bowling mastery to seal the deal, to seal India’s final spot, to book a date with New Zealand in Ahmedabad. 💥💪

The sea of blue at our fortress-Wankhede Stadium erupted 🤯 each time a boundary or six was smashed by defending champs India who locked horns in the ultimate semi-final versus England. This was not just any clash; it was the battle for mighty supremacy.

Put into bat first, India registered the highest score in T20 World Cup knockouts- 253/7 in 20 overs. The hosts hit 19 sixes- the most in a T20 WC knock out. In the end, it ended up in the kitty of the Men in Blue, by the BAREST OF MARGINS.. 😅

Samson’s Supreme Show 🌟

The batting spectacle continued from POTM Sanju Samson as he smashed 89 in 42 balls. Making most of the dropped opportunity, his bat did all the talking…absorbing pressure with pure class on display. Piercing the gaps well, his SR- 211.9 ensured a clutch half-ton came within no time for the hosts.

The Ishan-Sanju prime partnership, Dube adds vital 43👊

Both these talented batters stitched a 45 ball 97 partnership for the 2nd wicket. Ishan’s good cameo of 39 came in just 18 balls, indeed chota packet, bada dhamaka performance!  Shivam Dube showcased power hitting at its best, getting 43 in 25 balls.

TV turns up the heat, Hardik clears the ropes 🙌

Our very own Tilak Varma, ensured he added his special touch, with 21 off 7. Unleashing his beast mode with a fearless SR-300. On the other hand, HP pelted a 12 ball 27 ensuring India reached 253/7 in 20 overs. 😁

Knowing the conditions well, Will Jacks picked crucial wickets of openers Abhishek Sharma- Sanju Samson with his wily off spin.

England struggle with early wickets

The Englishmen found themselves at 68/3 in the powerplay courtesy smart bowling from HP (2/38), Boom’s yorkers (1/33) and Varun Chakravarthy. Kaamal ka show as Jasprit Bumrah picks 500 international wickets.

Catches win you matches 👏

Axar Patel’s game changing catch to dismiss Harry Brook made the crowd at Wankhede erupt in joy. Yet again, Axar did all the hard work, throwing it back behind the boundary cushion to Dube to dismiss Jacks. Phew, Paltan we can watch this on loop! Later, TV also caught one inches away from the boundary to remove Curran.

England fought well, courtesy Jacob Bethell’s 105 but fell short by 7 runs.

Brief Scores: India 253/7 in 20 overs (Sanju Samson 89, Shivam Dube 43; Will Jacks 2/40) BEAT England 246/7 in 20 overs (Jacob Bethell 105; Hardik Pandya 2/38, Jasprit Bumrah 1/33) by 7 runs.
