It’s important to look forward: Jasprit Bumrah
We fell to an 18-run loss against LSG and senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah faced the press after the match.
Boom spoke about the mood in the camp and how the senior players are trying to lift the team in a not-so-ideal situation.
When asked if this was the lowest point for the team, Boom did not look at it that way.
“It’s not the end for us, we lost a game yes but that’s how it is - one team has to win, one has to lose. That’s how we are looking at it. Nobody is as disappointed as we are but no one is shying away from the fact that we were not good enough. The table is not lying and we will give our best in the remaining games,” stated Bumrah.
With a lot of new players in the team, our squad is still going through a transition and Boom revealed that himself and experienced players like Ro, Polly and SKY were trying to find the positives and help the new players settle.
“The team is new, everyone is trying to find themselves. We are looking at the positives and the senior players are trying to motivate them,” said Boom.
Despite the losses, Boom was confident that there will not be a drop in our motivation levels.
“We will try to reflect on our mistakes and rectify them. Nobody wants to lose but we are taking it on the chin. We are looking at what we can control, we accept that we haven’t been good enough. We will go back to the drawing board and come back with the same intensity. We cannot change the past so it’s important to look forward,” he said.
We will next take on CSK on April 21st.
