Happy birthday, Polly तात्या!

Kieron Pollard. A name that instantly brings back a flood of memories for every Mumbai Indians fan! ✨ On his birthday, the #OneFamily takes a moment to celebrate not just the cricketer, but the legend who has been an inseparable part of our journey, our success and our heritage.

From the moment a 23-year-old Polly stepped into the MI camp in 2010, there was something in him that was destined for true success. 🙌 Over the years, he simply became a household name in the dressing room, both as a player and as a mentor to young talents.

He brought with him an unmatched energy, fearless power-hitting and developed the ability to single-handedly change the course of a match. 🏏

Pollard’s contribution goes far beyond the numbers. Yes, he’s been a game-changer with both bat and ball. Yes, he’s pulled off stunning catches and won us impossible games. 🫡 But what truly set the big man apart was the sheer belief he inspired – that “the game isn’t over until I say it’s over” mentality.

Lest we forget his pivotal role in all five of our IPL and two CLT20 titles, delivering when it mattered the most – whether it was with blistering cameos or crucial breakthroughs through the triumphant campaigns. Those terrific shows against CSK 😉, among other opponents, have to be Paltan’s core memory!

Then came 15th November 2022 – The day when he called time on a glittering Mumbai Indians journey! However, only as a player.

Polly said, “If I am no longer to play for MI, then I cannot see myself playing against MI either.” Oh, Kieron, these words melted our hearts for real!! 💙

He wasn’t going anywhere, nor were we letting him go! 🤝 Pollard, now fondly known as तात्या among his students, continued his voyage as MI’s Batting Coach. Our boys absolutely love learning from the best & his smile and teaching methods are adored by everyone!

Once again, Happy Birthday, Polly! 🎊 The legacy you’ve built will always remain etched in Blue and Gold in the MI folklore!!!
