KKRvMI report: The Corbin Bosch game! But no champagne…

By Mumbai Indians

From 41/4 inside the powerplay, to recover well enough to stay in the contest till the very end. Sadly, couldn’t get over the line. Some moments of brilliance amidst some missed chances and the refusal to throw in the towel, something that sums up our 2026 season. 😔

An early wobble

On a two-paced pitch that stayed up and down, Mumbai Indians were put into bat, and the top-order had a bit of a wobble in those tricky conditions, getting reduced to 41/4 inside the powerplay. Surya Dada, back in the side, played some exquisite typically Supla shots to counter-punch 👊 with his six-ball 15, but unfortunately couldn’t last long.

The recovery, brick by brick

It was down to skipper, Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma to consolidate the innings. And they did it, watchfully, playing out KKR’s spinners, who were enjoying the sharp spin off the pitch. But they took their time, soaked up the pressure, and laid a foundation to get to a respectable total. 💪

Clinical Corbin, Brilliant Bosch 👏

Fair to say, this was the Corbin Bosch game. A superb 18-ball 32 with three fours and two sixes, followed by the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane, Cameron Green and Tejasvi Dahiya with the ball to keep us in the hunt, and of course, that flying special…

…Rovman Powell c Corbin Bosch b Allah Ghazanfar 40(30) 🤯

It was powerfully slapped and was flying to the right of Bosch at point. But he jumps, one-handed, plucks out an absolute stunner, and even while falling makes sure he does it on his elbow. Woah! 😱

It wasn’t enough. KKR scraped through. As we return with a fight from the Eden and come back to the Wankhede for our final game of the season, we’ll give it our all to end 2026 with a smile!  💙
