Match preview, MI vs PBKS: Looking to end the Pune leg on a high

By Mumbai Indians

In what will be our fifth league match, Mumbai Indians will battle with Punjab Kings on April 13th as we chase our first win of Tata IPL 2022.

This will be our last match of the league stages at the MCA Stadium in Pune and it is another evening encounter.

The numbers are encouraging for us as MI enjoy a 15-12 head-to-head record against PBKS, with one match ending in a tie. PBKS had won that in a super-over.

We have also beaten PBKS in four of our last five matches.

Players to watch out for

Opener Shikhar Dhawan has been key to getting PBKS off to good starts, having scored more than 30 in three of the four innings he has played.

Englishman Liam Livingstone is in red-hot form for PBKS, having hit two fifties in each of the last two matches.

For MI, Surya is the man in form, with two half-centuries in as many matches.

Jaydev Unadkat picked his first wicket for MI in our previous game and also contained the RCB batters during his spell.

Upcoming milestones

If he makes the starting XI, this will be Ishan Kishan’s 50th match in the Tata IPL for MI since he made his debut in 2018.

Captain Hitman needs just 25 more runs to complete 10,000 T20 runs.Your support is what keeps us going, Paltan so let’s continue to keep it sky-high against PBKS!
