Taming the Bangla Tigers

By Mumbai Indians

Dhoni’s luck with the toss finally ran out and the repercussion made Team India look just as shaky as they were against Sri Lanka in the 1st match of the last Home series when they were put in to bat first. The Dhaka wicket showed its colours pretty early in the game, with Shikhar Dhawan losing his wicket cheaply, 2(6). The story continued and falling of wickets kept pausing the momentum unless Hardik Pandya took centre stage with his Mumbai Indians skipper, who gave him all the motivation to chase down the bowlers and play his natural game, which is unleashing his variety of shots.
Watching Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya bat was a treat to the eye. The sixes and fours were spread across the ground and no boundary was left untouched when Hitman and Rockstar were on charge.

India finished at 166-6 in which Dhoni also played his part with his signature six to finish the innings, giving us glimpses of the Mahi we have been waiting to watch again. The shift of momentum did not go well for the Home Team as they could never recover from the dropped chances and the sudden attack which took them by surprise. Our youngster Jasprit Bumrah shared the responsibility with Ashish Nehra perfectly by setting up the tone and giving the crowd a whoooo effect, every time the ball missed the bat. With a total of 58 Dot balls combined, out of 120, shows the control Indian bowlers had on the game throughout.

Bangladesh could never gain momentum and they ended up falling short of the target by 45 runs, which will not be a happy situation to look at with a negative NRR. Ending the game on a high Dhoni was all praises for the shinning youngster- Hardik Pandya, and he hopes for a power packed performance in the tournament ahead.
