MI Junior 2024: Close win for Jankidevi Public School in Boys’ Under-14 category in Mumbai

Laksh Thakar showcased his all-round brilliance (5 for 13 and 42*) to drive Jankidevi Public School to a close 2-wicket victory against Christ Church School Clay Road, Byculla in a MI Junior Boys’ Under-14 League game in Mumbai on Thursday.

An exceptional five-for by Laksh dismissed Christ Church for a subpar total of 107. In response, with wickets falling at the other end, Laksh held his own to lead Jankidevi across the finish line in 33.3 overs.

In another match in the same category, GES, Chembur got the better of IES High School, Navi Mumbai by a massive 246 runs, thanks to outstanding performances by Aarush Kolhe (102 off 79) and Aayush Shinde (5-2).

Opting to bat first, GES managed a colossal total of 313 in 40 overs, courtesy Aarush’s stellar ton. IES were then bowled out for just 67 runs, with Aayush doing the bulk of the damage.

Meanwhile, Vasant Vihar High School scored a mammoth 333 runs in 40 overs against Rizvi Springfields High School, CBSE, Khardanda, with DB Mridivnath (51 off 43) and Kaushik Redkar (50* off 44) scoring half-centuries.

Rizvi were restricted to 178/8 in their allotted 40 overs, with Darsh Tiwari (3 for 21) starring with the ball.
