MI Junior 2024: Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School, Modern English School in Boys’ Under-14 final

Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School (CSMT) thumped IES VN Sule English School (Dadar) by 9 wickets to storm into the MI Junior Boys’ Under-14 final in Mumbai on Thursday.

In a one-sided semi-final clash, VN Sule were bowled out for just 76 runs after being put into bat, thanks to an impressive 4-wicket haul by Anjuman skipper Vedant Ganesh Gore (4 for 31).

Anjuman-I-Islam Allana then chased down the target easily in 23 overs, at the loss of just one wicket. Opener Laxmanprasad Vishwakarma top-scored with an unbeaten 42.

In the other Boys’ Under-14 semi-final, Modern English School (Chembur) defeated Matunga Premier School by a comfortable margin of 97 runs.

Choosing to bat first, Modern English put up a fine total of 226/9 in 40 overs, with Sudhan Sundarraj (60 off 59) and Rishabh Sadake (52 off 72) scoring well-made half-centuries.

In response, Matunga Premier School were knocked over for 129 runs, with Vivaan Jobanputra (3 for 15) starring with the ball for Modern English.
