In what turned out to a run-scoring fiesta, Modern English School emerged victorious over Shardashram Vidyamandir International School to register a formidable 52-run win in the Semi-Finals of the Mumbai Indians Junior Under-15 Girls Inter School Cricket Tournament 2026.

After being put into bat, Modern English School recovered well after an early blow as skipper Swaraa Jadhav and Manaswi God forged a 97-run stand for the 2nd wicket. Both batters have runs under their belt and their confidence was reflected in their confident shot-making and clarity in their approach to the game. A quick-fire cameo from Sarah Khatri, complimented by the half-centuries by Swaraa Jadhav (61) and Manaswi God (57), powered Modern English School to a daunting total of 194 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Skipper Ria Thakur led from the front in the second innings as she embarked on a pyrotechnic frenzy, scoring a sensational half-century worth 85 runs off just 58 balls. However, Ria Thakur’s valiant effort came in a losing cause as he failed to find support in her team-mates as Shardashram Vidyamandir could only salvage 142 runs at the end of 20 overs, handing Modern English School a comprehensive victory.

Dynandeep Seva Mandal marched past IES VN Sule Guruji English Medium High School to register a convincing 4-wicket win. In the first innings, IES VN Sule Guruji English Medium High School failed to build any substantial partnerships as they were bundled out for just 124 runs. On the bowling front, Aryan Chauhan spearheaded the attack, claiming 4 crucial wickets. Despite, Rajveer Lad’s spirited and fiery bowling that saw him take 4 wickets, Dnyandeep Seva Mandal eventually crossed the line with 4 wickets in hand.

V.K Krishna Menon Academy tasted triumph as they defeated Chembur Karnataka High School by a domineering margin of 31 runs. IES New English School cruised past Dnyandeep Seva Mandal to record a comprehensive 6-wicket victory. Batting first, IES New English School could only salvage 129 runs despite their openers, Shriyush Chavan (47) and Virat Yadav (41) chipping in with crucial contributions. With 130 runs required, Aryan Patil’s (3/40) clinical bowling caused some problems for Dnyandeep Seva Mandal but Harshal Sonawane’s unbeaten knock of 34 runs guided them to a well-deserved win.

Swami Vivekanand International School secured a clinical win over Sitaram Prakash High School to register a bolstering 41-run win. Batting first, handy cameos from top-order batters – Kashish Rathee (37), Vedika Nikam (36) and Mudra Khedekar (33) – guided Parag English School to a respectable total of 160 runs in their allotted 20 overs. In response, National English School only managed to score 118 runs as Mudra Khedekar scalped 3 wickets to hand Parag English School a spot in the finals.

Nagpur: Double Glory for The Royal Gondwana Public School; Shri Rajendra High School Prolong Dominance

In a closely-contested finale, The Royal Gondwana Public School came out trumps over Shri Rajendra High School by an enthralling 4-wicket victory in the Finals of the Mumbai Indians Junior Under-16 Boys Inter School Cricket Tournament.

After being put into bat, Shri Rajendra High School got off to a decent start as opener Vishesh Chawda played a resilient knock worth 38 runs. However, it was Arjun Mahajan’s stellar half-century of 81 runs that powered Shri Rajendra High School to a decent total of 213 runs. Coming in after the first wicket, Arjun Mahajan commanded proceedings as he was the last batter dismissed before Shri Rajendra High School were bowled out. On the bowling front, the dynamic duo of Siddharth Gupta (4/25) and Nagesh Umale (3/41) struck at regular intervals to keep their side in the game.

With 214 runs required to win the title, the pair of Siddharth Gupta and Nagesh Umale came together once again, forging a staggering 121-run opening stand with the former going on to score a sensational half-century worth 72 runs. However, Atharva Bajad led a spirited fight-back, dismissing both the openers in consecutive overs and eventually ended the match with figures of 4 for 42. In the end, handy cameos from Rahul Sharma and Mohammad Sheikh guided The Royal Gondwana Public School to a well-deserved title clinch.

The Royal Gondwana Public School triumphed twice by winning the Finals of the Boys Under-14 category as well, as they annihilated Centre Point School (Seminary Hills) by a pulverising 8-wicket triumph.

Batting first, Centre Point School started the match in front, courtesy a 118-run partnership for the 2nd wicket between Armaan Sadhwani and Pratham Singhania. While Armaan was eventually dismissed after a gritty knock of 72 runs, Pratham Singhania stayed unbeaten till the end, consolidating the innings with an exquisite and articulate knock of 97 runs.

In response, Siddharth Namsani was at his belligerent best as he produced a pyrotechnic knock before he was agonisingly dismissed for 96 runs. Eventually, Aryan Nishad unbeaten cameo of 38 runs propelled The Royal Gondwana Public School to their maiden U-14 MI Junior title.

In the Girls Under-15 category, Shri Rajendra High School dominated proceedings to thump St. Joesph Convent High School by a commanding margin of 7 wickets, thereby retaining their dominance as they are crowned the MI Junior champions for the 5th consecutive season after finishing as the runners-up in the first edition.

Boys U-14 Matches:

The Royal Gondwana Public School decimated Centre Point School by a championship-defining 8-wicket victory. In the first innings, a 118-run partnership between opener Armaan Sadhwani and Pratham Singhania got Centre Point School off to a flyer before the former was dismissed for 72. Pratham Singhania anchored the innings, resolutely occupying one side as he went on to score a prolific, unbeaten knock worth 97 runs, guiding Centre Point School to a respectable total of 212 runs. In response, opener Siddharth Namsani led from the front, constructing a staggering innings of 96 runs as he guided The Royal Gondwana Public School to the title in dominant fashion.

Despite a spirited effort from Atharva Bajad (4/42), a 121-run opening stand between Siddharth Gupta (72) and Nagesh Umale (44) powered The Royal Gondwana Public School to a resounding 4-wicket win.

Shri Rajendra High School emerged triumphant as they eased past St. Joseph Convent High School with a decisive 7-wicket victory. Disciplined and tidy bowling by Gunjan Taywade (3/4) and Mihika Agashe (2/1), restricted St. Joseph Convent High School to merely 68 runs at the end of the first innings. With just 69 runs required, Shri Rajendra High School cruised to a commanding win as opener Janvee Bishnoi top-scored with a mature knock worth 29 runs.
