MI Junior 2026: Swaraa Jadhav’s All-Round Heroics Power Modern English School to 332-Run Triumph

In what turned out to be a heavily one-sided affair, Modern English School dominated proceedings to thump St. Aloysius High School by a marauding margin of 332 runs in a league match of the Mumbai Indians Junior Inter School Cricket Tournament 2026.

After opting to bat first, Modern English School got off to flyer due to a staggering 124-run opening stand between Swaraa Jadhav and Pragati (43), with the former going on to score a stellar half-century worth 67 runs off just 26 balls. Once the foundation was set, the middle order kept the momentum going as Sarah Khatri (52) and Tanvi Rane (51) went on to score half-centuries, while crucial cameos from Ruth Saluja (34 n.o) and Rianna Nikhil (21 n.o) propelled Modern English School to a colossal total of 351 runs in their stipulated 20 overs.

In response, St. Aloysius seemed to offer no resistance as they were bundled out for merely 19 runs, handing Modern English School a humungous 332-run victory. Swaraa Jadhav backed up her pyrotechnic fifty with an immaculate 5-wicket haul to cap off an exceptional all-round performance.

In the Boys U-16 category, Aaditya Pandey claimed an impeccable 6-wicket haul to guide Al Barkaat Malik Muhammad Islam English School to a formidable 98-run win over Swami Vivekanand International School.

Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School eased past IES New English School to record a resounding 36-run win. In the first innings, Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School were in a spot of bother at 112 for 7 as the Nikhil Gurav (3/26) led bowling attack struck at regular intervals. However, a counter-attacking half-century worth 62 runs off just 30 balls by skipper Yuvan Sharma alongside a steady knock of 40 by Kabir Jagtap guided Anjuman-I-Islam Allana English School to a respectable total of 206 runs. In the second innings, Yuvan Sharma once again led from the front, picking up 3 wickets as IES New English School could only salvage 170 runs at the end of 40 overs.

Al Barkaat Malik Muhammad Islam English School thrashed Swami Vivekanand International School to register a formidable 98-run victory. After being put into bat, Al Barkaat Malik Muhammad Islam English School posted a towering total of 255 runs in their stipulated 40 overs, led by Ishaan Pathak’s stellar half-century and handy cameos from multiple batters. On the bowling front, Manisha Chaudhary ran rampant claiming a clinical 5-wicket haul. Despite Ravulapalli Sravya’s (2/9) valiant efforts, Swami Vivekanand International School cruised to a comprehensive win.

  • National English School (Virar) vs Sane Guruji English Medium School (Dadar)

National English School decimated Sane Guruji English Medium School to register a domineering 152-run victory. After being put into bat, National English School posted a daunting 207 in their allotted 20 overs, powered by a 105-run opening stand between Aarya Kolte (61) and Aanshu Pal (40). In the second innings, Aanshu Pal capped a prolific all-round performance as she scalped a 5-wicket haul, bowling Sane Guru English Medium School for just 55 runs.

RR Education Trust registered a victory by walkover as IES High School forfeited the match before a single ball was bowled.

  • Modern English School (Chembur) vs St. Aloysius High School

Modern English School annihilated St. Aloysius High school by a pulverising margin of 332 runs. Batting first, half centuries by Swaraa Jadhav (67), Sarah Khatri (52) and Tanvi Rane (51) propelled Modern English School to a daunting total of 351 runs at the end of the innings. In response, St. Aloysius High School were bowled out for just 19 runs as Swaraa Jadhav backed up her fifty with a sensational 5-wicket haul.
