
MI Junior: Sulochanadevi Singhania, Sharadashram, Lakshdham, Sharadashram register wins
The third day of MI Junior Inter-School tournament saw Sulochanadevi Singhania School (Thane)Sharadashram Vidyamandir (Dadar), Lakshdham High School (Goregaon) and IES New English (Bandra) register impressive wins in their respective categories on Friday.
Raj Jain’s heroics (218* off 115 and one wicket) led Sulochanadevi Singhania School (Thane) to a massive 464 victory over Ryan International School CBSE (Malad) in a Boys' U-16 league match.
On the other hand, Sumedh Desai (210* off 90), along with Omkar Bhaide (152* and 3 wickets) powered Sharadashram Vidyamandir (Dadar) to a sensational 795 run win over Ryan Global School (Kharghar) in a Boys’ U-14 category match.
Meanwhile, Sourish Deshpande continued his outstanding run of form with another 5-wicket haul and helped Lakshdham High School (Goregaon) beat Aloysius High School (Nalasopara) by 10 wickets in a Boys’ U-16 match. Sourish had scored a brilliant hundred and had also taken 5 wickets on Thursday in the U-14 category, shining in two different age groups.
Elsewhere, the trio of Indrajeet Shinde (117), Arya Bele (116*) and Shravan Meher (108*) scored tons to secure an emphatic 253 run win for IES New English (Bandra) against Kendriya Vidyalaya IIT (Powai) in the Boys’ U-16 league match.
In U-15 Girls matches, Anjuman-I-Islam (Vashi) won by walkover against Sri Ma Vidyalaya (Thane) while IES High School (Navi Mumbai) beat Ryan International School (Kharghar) by 10 wickets, courtesy all-round performance by Priyadarshini Singh (49* and 1 wicket)
St. Francis Xaviers School (Kanjumarg) lost to Parag English School (Bhandup) by 10 wickets in a U-14 Boys match. The other Boy's 16 game saw Don Bosco High School (Matunga) beat RV Nerker Secondary School (Vasai) by 10 wickets.
Riding on performances of (Anish Shetty 64, Advait Rahate 57, Shreeharsh Kadam 55; Mihir Mhatre 3-53), St. Mary’s High School SSC (Mazgaon) beat SIES (Matunga) by 383 runs in an U-14 boys match.
