By Mumbai Indians

Shrihann Haridaass, Sabyasachi Mahapatra, Laksh Verma and others produced match-winning performances for their respective teams in the MI Junior Inter-School Cricket Tournament on Wednesday.

Shrihann Haridaass (115* off 102) smashed an unbeaten ton to steer Parag English School (Bhandup) to 4-wicket victory against Sharadashram Vidyamandir English School (Dadar) in a thrilling MI Junior Round of 32 game that went right down to the wire.

Batting first, Sharadashram racked up a decent total of 221-8, thanks to a half-century by Omkar Bhaide (60 off 57). In reply, Shrihann was the architect of the run-chase, scoring an exceptional ton to win the game for Parag English in the very last over, in what was a nail-biting finish.

Meanwhile, Sabyasachi Mahapatra’s all-round brilliance fired Vibgyor High (Malad East) to the Round of 16.

Sabyasachi (5-22) wreaked havoc with the new ball, taking an outstanding 5-wicket haul to dismantle opponents Vibgyor Roots and Rise (Malad) for a paltry 94 runs in another Boy's match. With the bat, Sabyasachi scored an unbeaten 48 to steer Vibgyor High to a comfortable 7-wicket victory.

Elsewhere, left-arm pacer Laksh Verma’s (5-10) heroics with the ball led VPMS Vidyamandir (Dahisar East) to a 136-run win against Yashodham High School (Goregaon) in another match of U-14 category.

After being restricted to just 183 runs in 40 overs, VPMS Vidyamandir were under immense pressure but Laksh rose to the occasion and bagged a five-for to knock over Yashodham High for a measly 47 runs.

In another U-14 game, Aarav Badlani starred with bat and ball to guide Vibgyor High School ICSE (Goregaon) to a 95-run victory against Bombay Scottish (Mahim).

Opting to bat first, Vibgyor High notched up a total of 199 runs, thanks to Aarav’s brisk 50 off just 41 balls.

Riding high on confidence after his half-century, Aarav took the new ball and destroyed Bombay Scottish’s top order with a stellar 5 wicket-haul (5-31). Rishyant Gala (4-12) cleaned up the tail to finish the job.

Lakshya Bajpai's sensational fifer (5-22) led Modern English School Chembur to a convincing 10-wicket win over R. V. Nerker Secondary, who were bowled out for paltry 65 runs in another U-14 match. Apart from Lakshya, Kanav Saini (51*) was the other top-performer for the Modern English School team.
