21:00 IST: Stumps. Curtains. That would be all then. Mumbai Indians retained a core coming into this Auction. We've now re-bought another major chunk of the 2023-25 juggernaut. Oh, this feels so good. It's a lovely mix of nostalgia and freshness in the ranks as we head into a new cycle. Bring on Season 4, Mumbai Indians are all set to defend their crown! 

11. Milly Illingworth - The 20-year-old Aussie sensation 10 lakhs INR

From Melbourne to Mumbai - Milly Illingworth, the tall right-arm quick who's knocking on the doors of the Australian national team, is our final overseason signing. She's going to love the bounce on offer at the DY Patil Stadium with our Paltan cheering her all along! 

10. Saika Ishaque - Left-arm bamboozler 30 lakhs INR

20:45 IST: Another homecoming incoming.. Saika Ishaque, the breakout star of the first season of the WPL, where she announced herself by carrying the Mumbai Indians to the WPL Trophy, is back where she belongs. It might have come in the third round, but again, we were simply not letting her go! MI Home, MI Pride. 

9. Nalla Reddy - Right-arm pace with Shabnim's brains to pick 10 lakhs INR
8. Triveni Vasistha - An 18-year-old talent unearthed 10 lakhs INR

Who doesn't love a young left-arm spinner? We have our own now, the 18-year-old Triveni Vasistha from Hyderabad, who's all set to bring in the exuberance of youth, and of course, the mystery the unknown. It's back to that old question, who has MI's scouting system unearthed now? And immediately after comes Nalla Reddy, a 21-year-old right-arm pacer. Another unknown gem picked, at her base price. 

7. Poonam Khemnar - An experienced warhorse  10 lakhs INR

20:10 IST: Poonam Khemnar, the Nagaland middle-order batter, who made her presence felt over the last three seasons of the WPL during her stints with RCB and UPW, will now have a chance to shadow with some of the best in the middle-order that ever played the game in the Blue and Gold. Welcome, welcome..

19:20 IST: Right then, the first round is done. After eleven sets and one accelerated round, we have our XI ready! As we head into the second half now where each team has been asked to submit a list of ten players they'd like to see come back into the Auction. 6. Nicola Carey - From the Purple of the Hurricanes to the Blue and Gold!  30 lakhs INR

And finally, a couple of new entrants to our #OneFamily. Rahila Firdous, the fiesty wicket-keeper from Madhya Pradesh is all set to team up with Kamalini behind the stumps. And we snap a big one right at the end of the session, with Nicola Carey, the Aussie pace all-rounder, who's been lighting up the WBBL as you read this, donning the Blue and Gold in what will be her maiden WPL season. Both of them come in at their respective base prices. 

4. S Sajana - Save your heads in the stands!  75 lakhs INR

19:00 IST: Guess who's next on the homecoming list? A first-ball six on debut to announce herself to the world. The Kieron Pollard of the women's team. A gun all-rounder, solid fighter with a never-say-die attitude, and a huge smile through all of it. The Kerala punch is here, after a massive bidding war, with our MI Spirit rose to the occasion to ensure she wasn't going away either!

So after eleven rounds of some breakneck action, some hits, some misses, some almost-theres, and some delicious homecomings, it's time for a 45-minute break before we get into the accelerated set. Here's what Mumbai Indians' strategy now has to be based around:

3. Sanskriti Gupta - Bats, bowls, entertains 20 lakhs INR

17:45 IST: Oh the MI nostalgia just won't end. Sanskriti Gupta, the all-rounder from Madhya Pradesh, someone we loved having in our ranks last year, is back in 2026! The pride of Madhya Pradesh, her energy is absolutely contagious, and we can feel it all the way here! 

2. Shabnim Ismail - The world's fastest bowler IS BACK! 60 lakhs INR

Hayley. Nat. Amelia. Shabnim. The overseas core from 2025 only becomes bigger and more familiar. Fiery, pacy, stumps flying all around, the angry celebration. The leader of our pace attack is back for 2026! दांडी गुल करायला Shabnim Ismail परत #AaliRe 🔥

17:00 IST: Okay, the batters are done and the 'keepers are up next to be followed by the bowlers. Apna Time Aayega, Paltan, we still have 2.75cr with us to spend and another 12 players to fill up.

16:15 IST: We have the capped batters coming up next. Mumbai Indians bid for Bharti Fulmali, win the bid too at 45 lakhs INR, but the Gujarat Giants have exercised the Right-To-Match card. Mumbai raise it to 70lakhs INR, but GG match it.   

1. Amelia Kerr - SHE IS BACK 3 crore INR

15:48 IST: Amelia Kerr, aapli Mumbai-Kerr, our star over the last three seasons IS GOING NOWHERE. She is coming home, as Mumbai Indians refuse to give in, raise the paddle to 3 crore INR, and edge the UP Warriorz out of the bidding race. Let those tears flow, Paltan! Woohooo!!! 🥹💙🥳

Alyssa Healy is the first player to come out of the bag. Surprirse, surprise, she remains unsold.. Woah, we are in for a real rollercoaster here. Brace up.

Mallika Sagar, the ace auctioneer, would be conducting proceedings. We also have confirmation on the venues for WPL 2026: Navi Mumbai hosting the first leg and Vadodara hosting the second leg and the final. We will have eleven sets before the accelerated round, starting with the Marquee players.
