“A true legend of our city and our country”: Mrs. Nita M. Ambani congratulates Rohit on stand unveiling
The Boy from Borivali who now has a stand named after him at the Wankhede!
Rohit Sharma, our pride, our legend, has inspired every kid in the entire country to dream. Making his debut for India at the age of 20, going on to become a certified great in the Indian Blue over the next eighteen years, winning five IPL titles with the Mumbai Indians, leading India to the T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy titles to end a long drought of ICC events for India, his story has just been the stuff of dreams.
On 16th May, 2025, the honour felt so much more special. At the iconic Wankhede Stadium where Rohit’s played all his cricket, among several greats of Mumbai cricket, the level three of the Divecha Pavilion, is now set to be known to the world as the Rohit Sharma Stand.
"Congratulations, Rohit! As Wankhede honours one of its favourite sons, it now carries not just your memories, but your name - a permanent mark of inspiration for every young cricketer. A true legend of our city and our country," said Mrs. Nita M. Ambani, Team Owner, Mumbai Indians.
We cannot wait for a mighty RO pull land right up here!
