Mum-Bhais at T20 Cup 2026 Week 2: Jacks the All-Star, BOOM’s new record

By Mumbai Indians

The Super 8s are officially here, and our Mum-bhais are shifting into top gear! ⚙️ From the dusty tracks of Ahmedabad to the turners in Colombo, that signature Blue and Gold DNA is ekdum rada 💥 in the T20 Cup 2026.

If Week 1 was just the warm-up, Week 2 has been all about that clutch MI mentality. No khali-pili ka talks here: we bring you the updated review of how our Class of '26 performed with the stakes going up a notch. 📈

Suryakumar Yadav (India - Captain)

Aapla Dada Surya led India to a perfect group stage finish with a win over the Netherlands early in the week. However, the Super 8 opener against South Africa in Ahmedabad was a tough nut to crack 😢. Facing a fiery Proteas attack on a tricky pitch, Surya couldn’t find his usual "360-degree" rhythm. But knowing SKY, a big knock is just one Supla shot away. Keep calm and trust the process! 🏏🔥

Jasprit Bumrah (India)

Even in situations that seem like doom, BOOM BOOM carves a silver lining of his own! In the Super 8 clash against South Africa, Bumrah registered incredible figures of 3/15. In the process, he surpassed R. Ashwin to become India’s leading wicket-taker in T20 Cup history (33) 🏅. Even though the opposition seemed on song with the bat, Jassi’s yorkers felt like magic spells. Legend behavior only!

Hardik Pandya (India)

Kung-Fu Pandya continues to be the glue for the Men in Blue 💙. After a crucial cameo in the group stage running, he was in the thick of the action against South Africa. Though he couldn't take the game deep with the bat, his presence and tactical inputs during the death overs served as a reminder of why he’s our go-to man for high-pressure situations. This period is just a warm-up for an HP special towards the business end! ⚡

Tilak Varma (India)

On the back of a composed outing (27-ball 31) during the final group game against the Netherlands, TV Tilak found the going tough against SA in Ahmedabad. But if the Paltan know his character, they know this “Star Boy” is a fighter, and we’re backing him to bounce back in the next game! 💪

Sherfane Rutherford (West Indies)

Our Caribbean Mum-bhai has been a vital cog in the West Indies' middle order, helping them boss their group with his explosive hitting. As seen in his disciplined 15-ball 24* against Italy this past week, the bowlers have no place to hide when Sherfane starts swinging! 🌴💣

Will Jacks (England)

The “Jacks of all trades” had a week to remember amidst his fairytale T20 Cup campaign for England. He capped two Player of the Match performances in succession - 53* & 1/34 vs Italy and 21 & 3/22 vs Sri Lanka. His dual-threat value is becoming more and more a S-Tier boss quest for opponents, and the "Slim Shady" appears ready to continue the momentum against Pakistan (Feb 24) and New Zealand (Feb 26).

Ryan Rickelton (South Africa)

The versatile wicketkeeper-opener had a steady outing against the UAE (16-ball 30), energizing the Proteas’ run chase that ended with a win inside 13.2 overs. But come the game against India, Rickelton had a short stay at the crease courtesy of MI team-mate Bumrah. But knowing his “silent assassin” capabilities, the Paltan can expect a जबरदस्त display against the West Indies.

Quinton de Kock (South Africa)

Quinny is proving why experience is gold! While he was knocked over early by a peach of a delivery from BOOM BOOM in Ahmedabad, his sharp glovework, including a vital catch to dismiss Tilak Varma, helped South Africa choke the Indian chase. The Proteas’ leading T20 Cup run-scorer remains the big-game hunter we all know and love. 🧤🔥

Corbin Bosch (South Africa)

The "Quiet Match-Winner" had a breakout week. First, a Player of the Match outing against the UAE (3/12) and then 2/12 against the mighty India. He showed his nerves of steel as he dismissed SKY and Washington Sundar to disrupt the Men in Blue’s possible resurgence in the middle. This act was preceded by a determined attempt to dismiss Abhishek Sharma. In a nutshell, Bosch hit the paisa vasool mode for the Proteas!
