Naman Dhir’s 173(64): Punch, power and pure poetry

By Mumbai Indians

Opening the innings, with an unforgettable knock of 173 on the board, 💙

Our very own Naman Dhir made heads turn as he smashed his way towards an outstanding record. 👊

He found the gaps and simply cleared the rope, 🤌

Giving his team plenty of hope. 🙏

When the talented batter found his rhythm and flow, ♾

The opposition bowlers were left with nowhere to go. 💪

With pure attack mode on and no slowing down the pace… 🔥

Just power, brilliance and purpose were all over the place. 😅

Naman’s Mumbai Indians DNA was shining bright and true, 💙

With bat, ball and belief he saw the job through! 🧨

Naman Dhir…take a bow! Paltan, some knocks make one sit up and simply adore the player. Our star at MI, Naman Dhir did exactly the same, making heads turn in the cricketing universe. Leading from the front, he produced a stellar knock of 173 in just 64 balls, aced with 16 fours and 12 sixes with a SR-270 turning the I.S. Bindra PCA Stadium into his own personal playground during the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League. He read the bowlers well, and was always one step ahead of them during every phase of the game. 👏

He had a clear game plan in place while opening the innings for his side. He took a little time to assess the conditions and then the boundaries started flowing, the sixes started flying… Before one could process what was happening the scoreboard was sprinting with the runs tally. From the first delivery he faced till the very end, he owned the moment. Even after reaching his century, there was no slowing down, he was even more pumped to add as many runs as possible keeping the fans on the edge of their seats chanting and cheering for him.

The mindset was to see, assess and smash the ball all over the park. He played every delivery on its merit. The intent and approach were spectacular as he kept motivating his partners at the other end too. Player of the Match, Naman was also involved in an outstanding 120 runs partnership along with Jashanpreet Singh. Later, he also grabbed 2/8 in his two overs to seal the deal for his side as they won the match by 67 runs.

For us at Mumbai Indians, it was all about seeing the familiar Naman Dhir show all over again…fearless, powerful and looking to make a positive impact. A performance which can be seen on loop. En route he broke plenty of records, his 173 is the highest score in State League T20s by an Indian. This was also the fastest century, the first ever individual 150 of the Sher-E-Punjab T20 tournament. Another record added to his name – this was the highest individual score across state T20 leagues in India. 💪🔥

Naman Dhir has taken another giant step, reminding everyone that when an opportunity knocks, one needs to grab it with both hands. He did not just open the door; he indeed blew off its hinges in a spectacular fashion.
