NAT Record-breaker, more like Record-maker

By Mumbai Indians

The legend. The Queen. Wake up, bag records, repeat. Nat Sciver-Brunt has made a habit of breaking down the boundaries, and here’s a bunch of records she got against her name during her superlative knock of 101*(57) against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Vadodara.

  1. * THE FIRST WPL CENTURION

  2. * The first batter to aggregate 300-plus runs in three different WPL editions

  3. * Leading run-scorer in the WPL (1346* runs)

  4. * Most fours in the WPL (205*)

  5. * Most 50+ scores in the tournament’s history (12)

  6. * Batter involved in most century stands (5 – 4 with Hayley, 1 with Harmanpreet)

“I’ve seen a few players get out in the 90s, so I didn’t want to replicate that. But I also wanted to get as many runs for the team. Really pleased that we could get up to that total, personally really happy as well,” she said during the post-innings chat.

“For her to get the hundred today was quite deserving. With all the innings she has played, not only this year but over the last four years. She has probably been the best batter in this tournament. In my opinion, quite fitting that she was able to get the first one,” said her partner in crime, Hayley Matthews.

Again, she’s the Queen. She’s the trendsetter!
